I made three changes: (1) I was concerned about the gaps between the slats, so I added slats; (2) I was concerned about the gaps between the slats, so I added slats; and (3) I was concerned about the gaps between the slats, br>(2) This is an important one that should be standard: the cushion will want to slide down in lounge mode. (3) I didn't think the recline went far enough back, so I added a block to create two deeper recline positions. I could only go back so far before another part interfered, but I was able to create a deeper recline that is ideal for me. My wife thinks it would be better if it leaned back even more. It still doesn't lean back as much as our old reclining couch, even with my modification.
Instead, I was given a Queen-size frame that only folds in half when not in use. Of course, there's no way to know until it's all put together, so after lugging the (75 lb? ) box to the third floor and spent 90 minutes putting it together, I now have the option of disassembling it for return or keeping it and making due. I chose the latter option because I need to get a bedroom ready as soon as possible, but it's a pain. If you can't ship the correct item, couldn't you at least clearly label the box so that it's clear what's inside?.
It was relatively simple to assemble. The instructions were simple and easy to follow, and I would recommend them - not- If you don't have to, don't spend 134 dollars on professional assembly. A hammer and a screwdriver are all you'll need. It's possible that you'll need an electric drill or both. Before assembling the parts, sort them and label them with a pencil according to the contents list on the enclosed sheet (I skipped the long slats). I had two dowels left over from the previous project. 4 additional screws and pegs If you want to organize each piece by the order in which it will be used (for example, the longest pieces will be used last), read the instructions first. It took me less than an hour to put this together. The stand-alone pegs went in easily, but you'll need a hammer to secure the wooden pieces after aligning the pegs that hold them together. br>br>The only issue was that the screw holes were not drilled in the correct location. I was able to get most of the screws in with a simple hand screwdriver, but some were still sticking up a bit, so I had to use an electric screwdriver to get them in. Screws not sitting flush with the wood can cause parts to be shaky or (if on the panels under the mattress) can potentially damage the underside of your mattress over time. br>br>This thing does not appear to be flimsy at all, so I expect it to last. I'm using a memory foam tri-fold mattress that's 6 inches thick. When folded and in bed mode, it does slide around a little, but this isn't a big deal.
This was a good fit and took up less room than a bed frame or sleeper sofa. I have a full-size bed when I unfold it. It does, however, sit low to the ground when used as a bed. I paired it with a tri-color scarf. Instead of using a futon, fold a memory foam mattress. This photo was taken with the frame in place, and it is tri-colored. a folded mattress, a comforter draped over and folded under the mattress, and matching pillows This would be a fantastic addition to a guest room. Because it sits so low to the ground as a bed, it's not ideal for seniors, but it's perfect for everyone else.
To begin with, I received it today. I'd like to point out that the wood quality, hole alignment, and accessories were all in great shape. I thought the instructions were very clear, and it took me about 45 minutes to complete it on my own. A hammer, an electric screwdriver, and, most importantly, masking tape and a Sharpie to clearly identify each piece before assembling are all essential tools. This will help it move along much more quickly. The only thing that disappoints me is that in order to create a standard futon position [with the lounger under the seat], you must raise the seat and fold the futon mattress underneath itself. We won't likely use that feature as much as I'd hoped because it's a little difficult to do, especially with a thick cushion.
This futon lounger is one of my favorites. I've had three before. One of them was a slap in the face. It was wobbly and had sharp edges, and I still have scars on my legs from slamming into them! This KD Frame has rounded corners, is sturdy and strong, and it's not difficult to put together if you sort out the pieces and follow the provided instructions. It takes a regular full-time employee longer to complete this task. I have a queen-size futon mattress with a memory foam mattress on it, which I use to watch movies, sleep on all night, and work on. It serves as a substitute for a sofa in my living room. I live in a one-bedroom apartment and hardly ever use it! It appears to be contemporary and enjoyable, as well as beachy and cool in my opinion. I adore it, adore it, adore it!.
As I was putting it together, I was irritated because it didn't appear to be a queen size. Assemble everything. You'll need a hammer or similar tool to effectively knock in the Clevis pins, as well as a rubber mallet to knock in the wooden pegs. Both can be done with a wrench with a rubberized handle, but it will take longer. I didn't glue the pegs in because if one of the slats breaks or something, it'll be easier to disassemble it and have a replacement part made by a local handyman. It's a solid piece. Under extreme pressure, however, wooden bed slats can break. Because not all of the holes are cleaned up on the opposite side of the drilling, you may need a pocket knife with a thin blade. The four stars are due to this. I would have given it 5 stars if the holes had been cleaned up and the wood had been finished properly.
