Questions & Answers

What makes this mattress different from a regular futon mattress? Is this mattress comfortable to sleep on because it has button studs?

There aren't any buttons on it, at least not that I'm aware of. I used to sleep on futons as a kid, and this one is quite comfortable. This one is denser and thinner than a standard futon mattress, in my opinion. I don't like regular ones because they're thick and soft.

What is the smallest size that the full-fledged full-fledged full Is it possible to roll up a full-size futon mattress? Is it possible to fold it in half first and then roll it? I'm hoping this will fit into my hope chest nicely. ?

It probably won't fit in a hope chest because I roll mine up instead of folding it. I'm not sure how well it would work.

I ordered two queen sizes, but is there a zipper around the edge of the full size to remove the polyseter outer for washing?

I also have the full, which has a zipper, but the outer shell cannot be removed. Threads hold the futon material in place with the cover, as seen in all the little divots you see across the futon surface. It appears that removing and replacing it would be a major undertaking.

Is there any kind of odor?

There is, in fact, It had a very strong odor to it, in my opinion.

This is a fantastic bed
5/5

Every night, I think about it. It, as well as my new frugal lifestyle, are two of my favorite things. In a divorce, the house does not always go to the wife. Ladies, let this serve as a warning. If you want to marry a wealthy older man, don't do it. Get married to your age and status and work your butts off together. Find a partner who is on the same level as you. Push back a decade. Tossing older dudes to the curb is a signal that they need to be controlled. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This mattress is ideal for those who are contemplating or transitioning in their lives. It fits perfectly behind my younger sister's couch, I can use all of my regular bedding, and it is great for my back. We're technically certified in Thai yoga massage, even if we never use it, and it was through our training that I learned about these mattresses, which are thin futons but not too thin for a comfortable everyday bed. I ordered the full size, which is either perfect or slightly too big for me, a 5'3 130-pound woman. My cat, journals, and meditation cushion all have a place in there. I'm starting to realize how grateful I am for the mattress, and it's perfectly adequate as a long-term solution. It's not necessary to think of it as a stand-in. Every day, I wake up rested and ready to begin my day.

Sleeping pills are no longer an option
5/5

I didn't buy this mattress with the intention of weaning myself off of my sleeping pills. Instead, I planned to move from a $1,000 mattress to the floor in the hopes of improving my back health (and saving money on mattresses), but after sleeping on it for well over a year, I'm officially in love and don't think I'll be able to give it up. Since I can remember, I've been on or required some form of sleep aid. I was given medications to help me sleep as a teenager, and as an adult, I was able to switch to melatonin, which is much safer because it is a natural supplement, but I was still reliant on it to fall asleep. Even with it, there were nights when I'd lie awake and accept the fact that I'd only get a few hours of actual sleep, if any at all. br>br>I came up with the idea of using a Japanese-style font. Originally for my back, I decided to make a futon mattress after researching the health benefits of sleeping on the floor. I began by laying a few comforters on the floor and eventually decided to purchase this mattress after discovering that I could get a good night's sleep that way, but that I needed something more substantial to begin with. After a few months of sleeping on it, I realized I didn't need the melatonin anymore. Since I stopped taking it, I haven't needed it. br>br>To be honest, I'm not sure if this has helped or hurt my back. I'd say so, but with an office job that requires me to sit at a desk all day, my back is pretty much doomed unless I go to the chiropractor on a regular basis. What I can say is that my dreams are a lot more vivid than they used to be, I dream a lot more frequently (almost every night now, though I don't always remember them), I wake up feeling much more rested, and I feel like I can breathe a lot better. I also appreciate how easy it is to roll it up and store it in a corner. It's such a unique environment. saver. It's also portable in the sense that I can cram it into my small SUV, and spending the night with a friend means all I need is enough room on their floor and I'm in my own bed, but it's not something you'd take camping because it's bulky. br>br>It did go a little flat, but that's actually perfect for me because I clearly need a LOT of support; in fact, as I've worn it down, it's only gotten more comfortable, and there's still a good strong inch of concentrated cushion that keeps my hips from digging into the floor like they would as a side-sleeper. However, I would not recommend it to everyone. If you're overweight or have arthritis, you'll need a lot more padding. But it turned out to be a fantastic experience for me. I can no longer sleep in a regular bed because it suits me so well. They're far too pliable. I've even placed an order for a pair of twin-size mattresses. To keep at my parents' house, I made a smaller version of this. And kudos to this company for delivering BOTH mattresses a day ahead of schedule. I'm also pleased because I ordered the second during the Christmas season. I was a little worried it wouldn't arrive in time because I had it shipped directly to my parents' house to free up space in my car for my passengers; thanks guys! When my beloved bed begins to disintegrate from extensive use, I will be looking to you for my next one.

When combined with a light foam mattress topper, I find it to be ideal
4/5

For the past two months, I've slept on this mat. It's as comfortable on my back as it is- I feel a little too much of the floor beneath me when I sleep on my side. I've paired it with a light, 2-inch heel. I'm now in heaven thanks to my inch memory foam mattress topper. The entire thing folds up and fits in my closet, which is a godsend in my cramped apartment. To be honest, I no longer miss traditional beds, especially given how much space they take up when not in use. Overall, this mattress and topper cost me around $150. Even so, it's still a bargain compared to a traditional mattress. After about a month, I noticed that the cotton stuffing had started to flatten a little. To redistribute the padding, these mats are typically hung up and beaten. If I try this, I'll let you know how it goes.

It was a good deal and it helped me with my back
5/5

It helped me with my chronic back pain, as the title suggests. I wouldn't call it a cure, but after sleeping on the floor with this mattress, my back feels much better in the morning. It takes some getting used to at first, but it didn't cause me any sleepless nights during my adjustment period (which lasted about a week). Mind you, I'm 260 pounds, so I'm surprised it's lasted over a year for me. I haven't had to replace it yet, and I will admit that my wife and I aren't always diligent about folding it up when we wake up in the morning, so my side has flattened slightly, but not enough to wake me up. br>br>One of our fears about sleeping on the floor was that if we ever had a mouse or bug problem, they'd be crawling all over us at night, so we combined this with a mesh mosquito netting tent, which has been a great combination. My back feels better in the morning, we don't get bitten by mosquitoes at night, monsters have nowhere to hide, and we paid $130 rather than thousands like my friends and family to get the same restful night's sleep. It also makes our room feel more spacious, and the bed will be one of the easiest items to pack if we ever have to move.

That was an excellent choice
5/5

I switched from a fiberglass-filled Zinus memory foam mattress to the floor a few months ago, and while doing so, I discovered I am a floor sleeper because my back felt great. I've never had a back injury, but I think I just need a hard surface. br>I did a lot of research on this futon mattress and found a lot of positive feedback. The odor was not present for me, the thickness is as shown, the outer shell has a zipper, and the inside is raw material - As a result, it's impossible to get rid of. Overall, it was a good buy, and I plan to keep it for as long as possible. I sleep with one memory foam pillow, a king-size goose down duvet that I can tuck behind me, under a shoulder, or between my legs as a pillow, and a silk pillowcase to keep my hair healthy.
