I can't quantify how thick it is, but we have honey in ours, and it pours fine; this is local honey, not store-bought honey. I'm guessing temperature has something to do with pouring honey, syrup, or anything similar. The item is of high quality.
This is something you should never do. For one thing, when you let go of the button, the cap closes. Furthermore, there is no evidence that the glass is heat-resistant. tenacious If you heat this syrup dispenser, I believe you will end up with a mess and possibly a fire hazard. Put your syrup in a microwave-safe dish and heat it for 15 seconds at a time until it reaches the desired temperature.
In response to my email, Taylor from GoodCook stated that the dispenser is BPA-free.
Yes. I use the microwave to heat my syrup, and gravy is no exception. Just make sure you don't overfill it. Allow for some expansion as it warms up.

Hello, so I own a restaurant and bought a half-dozen of these for the exact purpose for which they were designed; syrup. I have the metal lidded ones as well, but they pit and are difficult to clean, as well as having a separate, disappearing gasket, so plastic is the way to go, right? My elderly customers, on the other hand, do not have the strength in their thumbs to pull back the valve. The majority of people suffer from arthritis in one form or another. It never occurred to me that they would find it so difficult to use- It's a shame, but I'm glad I only got six of them. I'd buy them if they were just for my family; they're fantastic.
The plastic dispenser lid broke after a couple of uses and careful hand washing. Small plastic hooks attached to the thumb piece (which you pull back to open the lid) keep the piece flat against the lid in this flimsy design. If these crack or break, the lid as a whole will be rendered useless. While there is a design flaw, I would be surprised if this lasted for anyone for any length of time. Very let down.
It's a fantastic product, with a glass base and a robber seal on the top. br>I didn't read the description and bought it based on the positive reviews, and I'm very pleased with it. It can be used to make honey.
Initial thoughts: This small pitcher appeals to me greatly. It was made for syrup, but it works just as well for half and half. So far, there have been no issues. When it was used to make sugar, it received negative feedback. I can see that happening because the granules could get caught in the mechanism, but it's fantastic for half and half. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I put one in the dishwasher, and it broke the top. It should be noted that this item is not dishwasher safe! I washed the other by hand and discovered mold growing in places I hadn't expected. Gross! I'm disappointed.
I bit the bullet and started reading Amazon reviews of honey dispensers after hearing my husband complain about our leaky, crystalized plastic honey bear that couldn't be microwaved on numerous mornings. This has sparked a lot of interest! Because I didn't want to make a design statement or clog up the counter, the main concern was function. I finally settled on this one after spending far too much time looking for it, and it was only $20. I buy Amish honey in a big jar and keep it in this for everyday use. In every way, this is superior to the old bear: Filling is easier (the mouth is larger), the base is microwaveable (no need to use a double boiler to melt the chocolate), and it is non-stick. corrosive top with no annoying moving parts that is simple and easy to clean with warm water. Remove the top, microwave for a few seconds, and you're ready to go if the honey isn't flowing as quickly as you'd like. Yes, honey is messy, so you'll need to wipe it down now and then, but overall, I'm very pleased. And my Honey has stopped complaining!.
We usually get our syrup from a nearby farm, and it comes in a large jug. When my kids try to pour it, the syrup spills all over the place, leaving us with pancakes drenched in syrup. This is not only a pain to clean, but it is also a waste of good syrup! I tried to show them how to pour slowly, but it was difficult because they couldn't see how close the syrup was to the opening through the jug. They became irritated and began to tip the jug excessively. I figured that using a glass dispenser would help them learn how to tilt and pour syrup properly. There aren't many choices available, unfortunately. This is a pretty good one. I like that it's made of glass, and it appears to be well-made; my only concern is that the handle appears to be a little flimsy. It appears to be on the verge of cracking. The main issue we have is that getting the syrup out requires sliding back the top. I can do it with just one hand (holding the handle and sliding the top back to release the syrup). For children with small hands, however, it is difficult. It necessitates a certain level of bravery. For an adult (without arthritis), this is a piece of cake; however, for a child, this is not the case. My children, on the other hand, enjoy using it. For the time being, they'll need two hands to operate it: One will hold the handle, while the other will open the top. Because they can only open the top a little and are learning to pour, it helps save syrup. I believe they will be able to manage as they grow older, but for the time being, it is saving me money because I am not wasting syrup due to a bad pour. I'm glad I bought it in the end.
I am very pleased with the product, and as many other reviews have stated, there is no risk of plastic corroding or rusting, as there is with chrome/metal dispensers.
But I need to get a new syrup dispenser, and it won't be this one. The reason for this is that dispensing the syrup has become extremely difficult in recent weeks; we wash the cap from time to time, but sliding back the lever that dispenses the syrup has become so difficult that we can no longer use it. It's a pity because the rest of the show was fantastic.
