There are a variety of lids available, each with a different hole size. The holes in my Fine lid are about 1mm in diameter.
You have the option of selecting which lid you want when you make your purchase. Lids come with a variety of hole sizes, ranging from small to large, so you can use them with a variety of ingredients. There are also solid lids to choose from. Near the top of the product page, you should be able to select from a variety of options.
The medium top would be my choice; it should work well. For sea salt, I use the coarse top. Love it.
Extra coarse means it has larger holes for things that aren't as fine; I use mine all the time.

At home, I make popcorn with an electric popcorn maker, which adds that extra buttery salt flavor. This popcorn salt shaker is ideal because it does not release too much at once, allowing you to better control how much goes on at once.
We use this for cinnamon, which we liberally sprinkle on a variety of foods, and this is the ideal little shaker for that, as well as I'm sure many other uses. It's the perfect size, and I really like how evenly it sprinkles. I would strongly suggest it!.
I bought it to use as a baking soda dispenser for cleaning various items. That's exactly what it's designed for. The lid is simple to remove and replace, and the handle is comfortable in my hand; the only drawback so far is that it has a notch of sharp plastic on the bottom that I had to file down (most likely from the mold/cast). In that regard, quality control could use some work, but aside from that, I'm satisfied.
The top of the container is solid. There's no way to get anything out unless you make the small holes yourself. With a large handle, the bottom half is nice and clear. However, a shaker was something I really wanted.
peppers that have been grown I crumble them after drying them. I needed a shaker that wouldn't clog and could stand up to a lot of shaking. This has a solid, firm feel to it. a tight-fitting lid that can also be easily removed for refilling It's simple to clean, and the holes are just the right size for my needs. This is fantastic.
This extra coarse shaker is ideal for crushed red pepper.
This is a fairly straightforward item. I needed it for cinnamon sugar and spice mixes. Everything went smoothly. It is something that I would recommend.
I hoped to be able to keep coarse salt in the container and easily open it with my thumb. Because the lid is so tightly fastened, it won't work for that purpose. I'm going to save it and put it to good use. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's a good item that's sturdy, but it's not for me.
