This bag is a complete and total waste of money. I bought it as a gift for someone who works in a kitchen, and I'd be embarrassed to give it to them. It'll make a great gift for a mom who wants to feel "pro" or a younger person who wants to feel that way as well. br>Is there a difference between quality and quantity? Poor. The stitches were a complete disaster. The material is thin, the knife slots are jumbled up, and there's no way to keep knives secure in your "roll. " br>Are you looking for something that will last for a long time? No idea. It's not something I'm going to use. No one else, for that matter. br>Do you think it's worth it? Poor. Please refer to the previous paragraph. br>Are you looking for a real kitchen? No way; I wouldn't trust my parents' cutco knives, let alone a decent knife, to this bag. br>Overall, it's probably fine for a Halloween costume but not something you should buy for culinary work.
My only requirement for a knife roll was that it be long enough to accommodate my large 16" (total including handle) Tojiro bread sliver, and surprisingly, this is the only one I could find on Amazon for less than $50- 100 br>br>Quality is adequate; however, there is nothing special about the materials or construction. It's just a nice, light-hearted movie. For storage or travel, a heavy-duty padded roll is available. This was purchased for a cross-country move where I needed something to protect my blades during the journey. There's no reason not to give this 5 stars because it does the job perfectly and at a reasonable price.
For the price, this is an excellent knife roll bag that can hold a variety of knives of various shapes and sizes in its pouches. It has a shoulder strap that is useful for carrying it around but can be removed if necessary. For the price, the fabric quality is adequate, but the knife bag as a whole is functional and useful. What I like best about it is the price! It's hard to beat, so get it if you want a nice knife roll bag without spending a lot of money.
(This is Phil's wife) All I needed was a place to keep a few knives and utensils for when we have an office lunch. I stuffed everything in, and while it didn't quite zip after that, it fit perfectly in a file drawer where I keep party supplies (with the divider pushed all the way back). This will only be carried to and from the break room and my office, so it's ideal for my needs. I don't have to worry about slicing my hands anymore when I reach in there, and I can see where they're all stowed, dust-free.
Based on the reviews, I was optimistic about this product. The issue I'm having is that the knives along the crease slide into each other when I roll it. When I try to roll my steel into it, the problem becomes even worse. To keep the blades from slamming into each other, I have to carefully position my knives. With a good roll bag, you shouldn't have to worry about this.
There were no stray threads, and the zipper never got stuck. The stitching is straight and even. This bag's size is ideal for me, except it won't fit five knives with sheaths. br>br>The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that this knife bag will hold five knives, but not if you keep them in a sheath, as I do. I couldn't zip this bag up if I tried to put 5 sheathed knives in it, especially if there was a steel honing rod inside.
Great Roll I work as a cook in a casino and this Roll is durable, cleanable, and light even with all of my knives in it. It holds just enough knives for all of the basic needs in any kitchen I work in. Great Roll for starters (not a FNG but good for a starter Roll).
The product was poorly packaged. It's still a good investment. This is a good bag for the money; I've had better, but they were much more expensive; my only criticism is the packaging, not the product. It came folded in half, so there was a crease in the middle that will need to be ironed out over time; however, I would have preferred it not to be that way. Even so, it's a purchase that's well worth it.
