IT IS THE WORST BAG EVER. I am a culinary student who received a payment of $150. I paid 00 tax for this bag, thinking I was getting a good deal. THIS IS THE WORST BAG IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD! br>br>The bag is sturdy (though the zippers aren't) and has all of these compartments, but it won't zip all the way around once you've stuffed your supplies inside. Because there isn't enough space between the compartments' edges and the zip to allow you to fully zip the bag shut, you'll have to rely on the side clips to keep the partially open bag secure. I'm always worried that something will fall out of the bag. Now for the knife bag. br>br> It isn't particularly thick or robust. You will cut yourself trying to remove a knife because the knife comparments are so close together, and it isn't high or wide enough to safely remove a knife. Organize the knife covers in such a way that when you unroll the bag, all of the covers have shifted off.
It's a very sturdy back pack; I'm carrying about 70 pounds of gear in it and it's not falling apart. The clips and D-rings are a minor drawback. Because the rings are so cheap, they should have enough spring to hold some heavy dutier clips. The rolling cutlery bag is a great addition because you can take what you need out of it if you don't want to take the entire bag out. Because I work from home, I simply leave my backpack at home and use the roll. There will be no more stray tools strewn about my office desk or drawer!! It would be ideal for a student, in my opinion. If you have a lot of gear and want to keep it all in one place, this bag is a great option.
strap around the ring My ChefSac Backpack is fantastic, with only one flaw. Someone brushed up against me while I was carrying the knife roll. It wasn't an especially difficult hit; The fabric strap that secures the D-ring, on the other hand, is a different story. The ring that had been in place for a long time had completely disintegrated. I bought it in June and planned to use it as soon as school started on September 1st. So I forgot to return it before school started, and I had only been using it for a month when the incident occurred. Aside from that, the backpack is appealing to me. EDIT: br>br> Czarina Czarina Czarina Chef Sac gave me a response. The knife roll was replaced at no cost to me. Chef Sac is committed to providing excellent customer service. I'll buy from Chef Sac again without a doubt. I gave it five stars instead of four.
I'm getting a lot of use out of this bag! I made the switch from a toolbox to this knife backpack, and I'm glad I did! It holds almost as much as my large Heavy toolbox while weighing a fraction of the weight. Any Culinary Professional would benefit greatly from this backpack. If I had one suggestion, it would be to use knife guards because the knives do tend to slide around in their slots and you can get a cut by your nail, which is more annoying than painful.
For the knives I carry to work, I needed a new bag. After doing some research, I came across this one. My husband was blown away when he first saw it! He claimed that our entire kitchen could fit in there with plenty of room to spare! There are no bulging pockets or bulky compartments on the bag itself, which gives it a sleek appearance. I like that there is a smaller detachable knife roll so you can fill it with the knives you use frequently and take it with you instead of taking your entire bag. I probably have 20 kitchen utensils and 10 knives in the bag, but it's still light and sturdy. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who asks, and I have already recommended it to a couple of people.
I used to have a chefsac back pack that was great, but it was a little too small for me. I could only bring my knives and a few other tools with me. This backpack perfectly fills in the gaps left by the previous one. Plus, you get a knife back pack and a knife roll bag in one. Everything is of the highest quality. If you're looking for a way to transport your knives to school or work, as well as other items, this is the bag for you.
I've been looking for something like this my whole life; it's a very nice build and design. Even with 20 pounds of gear in it, including my portable monitor, keyboard, and mouse for turning my smartphone into a computer station for work on the go, it's super comfortable. I think the logo could be improved. With the chef's hat on it, it looks a little cheesy, but that's just my opinion. This in no way diminishes the badass-ness of the character. this pack's uniqueness.
Purchased in honor of my son's graduation from culinary school. He couldn't fit all of his tools in both of his bags, so he used a smaller bag he had from school instead. Would not be interested in purchasing.
