In writing my review, I want to let you know that I have been using this product for the past four years and have just purchased a replacement. In spite of this I seldom use it for its original purpose which was Asian cooking, as I bought the wonderful "stir frying to the sky's edge" by Grace Young to learn how to cook Asian food. As a matter of fact, this wok is what I use every week for high searing meat. Using a wok with a 1500W element means the sear will be high Your meat pieces will be seared and sealed in their juices when this is done. There is a delicious flavor and wonderful texture in this dish. It is impossible to cook chicken better than you do! When taking out chicken, I make sure the inside is still pink, taking out as soon as the inside is flat and white (I use chicken as an Overcooking meat will not work because this wok on high sear makes fast work of your meat! My main use for this is to make meats, other than grilling. It usually takes me a few minutes to add minced garlic to a dish, but I don't do it until the last minute, as it burns otherwise.
