Questions & Answers

Would you buy this one if you had to do it all over again, or would you go with the 4 square?

It depends on how many waffles you need to make at the same time. It makes a batch of waffles every 3 minutes or so, and the only reason I'd get the four is to increase the production rate; the two have always sufficed for us. The two are also much easier to store: If I had to buy them all over again, I'd choose the two.

My sour dough waffle batter is made from scratch - Is it possible to use this waffle maker?

I've only attempted to make batter from scratch once, but the waffle maker performed admirably. I don't see why your batter should behave any differently than other batters because the starter in a sourdough waffle is essentially a flavoring agent, in my opinion. People who experiment with different recipes or use a mix occasionally and make their own batter at other times may need to adjust the doneness setting depending on how thick or thin the batter is, but if you use the same recipe consistently, the waffle maker should produce consistent results once you've found the right setting.

In which country did this machine get its start?

All All- China is where clad electric appliances are made. As required, the country of manufacture is printed on the machine.

Is it made of cast iron, steel, or a chemically nonstick surface on the inside? Thanks! ?

It's nonstick on the inside, so I've never had to grease or oil it before using it, and the waffles come out perfectly. I would, however, point out that I use a fork to "hook" the corner of the waffle and give it a giggle before it comes out because it is snug in there but does not stick. We've been using it at least three times per week since Christmas, and it's fantastic.

I was let down
3/5

I was very eager to buy this product because I already owned the other All-In-One. I decided I wanted the Belgium Waffle Maker as well as the Clad Waffle Maker. However, I was extremely disappointed when I received this product. The crucial overflow batter catch does not stay in place, and if it moves slightly out of place, it creates a difficult mess to clean up. The issue is that the small plastic cup does not lock in place, and the device's cord sits directly beneath it, causing it to hit the cup on a regular basis. The tiniest movement causes the cup to move, resulting in a big mess.

WAFFLE IRON WITH THE BEST RESULTS - EVER! I've used a variety of waffle irons over the years
5/5

They appear to work fine for a short period of time before everything begins to stick to them. I've made more waffles with this iron than I have in my entire life, and the surface is durable and easy to clean. It takes a little longer to heat up (I use a 4 setting and cook the waffles for a few minutes longer), but the waffles are consistently delicious and easy to make. To remove the waffles, I use the Tovolo Waffle Tong (which I also like). I like that the lid latches shut so that I can store it on its side (which saves space in my crowded pantry). When you overfill it, it comes with a drip catcher that you slide on the back. If I make sure it's pushed all the way in, it works pretty well. However, I make every effort to perfect my pour and avoid overfilling. Perhaps it was the brand of waffle mix I used that made the difference - I've been making waffles with Krusteaz waffle mix. They are the best tasting waffles I've ever had, and they come out of the waffle iron like a charm. BEFORE EACH USE, I LIGHTLY OIL MY IRON WITH VEGETABLE OIL (NOT SPRAY OR SOLID) AND WIPE CLEAN WITH DAMP PAPER TOWELS TO MAKE SURE I GET ALL RESIDUE OFF.

I've been looking for something like this
5/5

I make waffles on a weekly basis and even bring my waffle maker to the beach with my family. Every few years, I need a new one, and I was hesitant to spend so much money on this one. I'm glad I made the decision to do so. The waffles are thick and fluffy on the inside, and I've used both brownie and regular cake mixes in this waffle maker with great results. The waffle maker is attractive enough to stay on my counter, which no other waffle maker has been permitted to do. It had a nice feature that allowed me to stand it up straight for space savings while still displaying a well-made kitchen appliance. I'm glad I went ahead and bought it because I don't think I'll ever need another.

Life expectancy is two years
3/5

It worked reasonably well, though it was slow and burned the waffle if you didn't remove it before the beep. After a little more than two years of semi-retirement, With frequent use, the top half of the iron failed to heat up, resulting in half-cooked waffles. The fact that All Clad's logo is on this throwaway appliance should make them feel embarrassed.

The waffle maker in Belgium is fantastic
5/5

I did a lot of research on waffle irons and discovered that this one was pretty much universally adored by everyone who had purchased it. I considered cheaper waffle makers because a number of them had good reviews, but I chose this one because it appeared to be very durable (many people left follow-up reviews) and produced high-quality waffles. The latter has proven to be true in my experience. I don't use any nonstick spray and only clean the iron with a towel after each use. All of the leftover batter is thrown away in the back. I've made a lot of waffles, and they've all turned out great, whether they have fruit in them or are made with whole wheat flour. The handle stays nice and cool while you're cooking, but be aware that the rest of the waffle iron gets extremely hot- As a result, keep an eye on small children. I am ecstatic that I purchased this waffle maker and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The heating element inside the product is defective, so it's a bad product
3/5

One half of the waffle was cooked according to the recipe, while the other half was undercooked. cooked. The over- While the flow basin was a good idea, it was poorly designed, causing batter to backflow onto the receptacle's holding plate, making cleanup time consuming and tedious. An All Clad product that does not live up to its name. I used the product once before returning it because it was not worth the money I paid.

The most amazing waffle maker I've ever seen
5/5

Spend the money if you're as passionate about waffles as I am. This is the one to get. I've never had a better waffle maker. The waffles are thick and evenly cooked, with deep indentations. My children began bickering over who should inherit it in my will as soon as they saw it.

If you're thinking about buying an All Clad Waffle Maker, here are some pointers to consider
4/5

Every ten days or so, I make a batch of waffles. My two-sided flip model (Waring) broke, so I went on the hunt for a new one. Today was the first time I made a batch of these cookies. As expected, the waffles are delicious. Here are some suggestions for All Clad that I think would have been useful:
1. The waffle maker produces two waffles, each weighing 50 grams. My previous Waring waffle was 120 grams in weight.
2. The batter used in the unit is slightly less than 2/3 cup (at least according to the recipe I use).
3. Extra batter is collected in a plastic cup. This came in handy when I was trying to figure out how much to buy.
4. I discovered that if I smoothed the batter surface toward the front of the iron with a heat resistant spatula before closing the lid for cooking, I was less likely to get leakage out the back.
5. Because of the orientation of the waffle slots, it's a little trickier to remove the waffle than it was with my previous maker. So far, I've found that an offset spatula is the better tool.
