The timer begins when the waffles are flipped in many machines. Of course, they'll cook evenly without having to flip them, just like all old-fashioned non-stick skillets. It was flipping machines that did it.
If you have small children or are on a diet, it's one large waffle with baked perforations that can be separated into four smaller waffles. They turned out perfectly golden brown on the fourth setting. Look at the video directly beneath the picture of the item. The last dot on the right is it. To view the short instructional video, simply click on it. Amazon is very accommodating in this regard. This item was chosen as a top pick by Consumer Reports. That is why I purchased it, as well as the fact that it is the model that many hotels use in their complimentary breakfast area. Extremely long lasting. The drop pan for spills is also a plus. If you stick to the video's instructions, you won't have to worry about it running out of time. It makes a perfect no-mess waffle if you use the included cup and quick guide, follow the directions on the waffle batter mix you're using, and don't overmix. Mixing by hand is also the only option. I only had to read the quick guide once, and it took me 30 seconds to do so. It's a piece of cake. 😊
The only waffle mix we use is Krusteaz! This batter is excellent. Start in the middle and pour in a clockwise circle for each side, using exactly 1 cup batter. Make a decision. On 4 1/2, you can forget it.

After receiving it, I was extremely pleased with this waffle maker. It's well-designed, functional, and simple to use, in my opinion. br>br>With this Cusinart WAF-200, I make two waffles twice a weekend. F20, which I've been doing successfully for the past ten months. It was very enjoyable for me. br>br>Then, after cleaning up one weekend, I stared at the rear support post for a while and wondered, "What am I looking at?" "br>br>I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This unit's rear support post's entire housing is made of low-cost plastic. Plastic! br>br>The center section, which has two sets of coils, one for the upper and one for the lower griddle portion, gets extremely hot and is within an inch of the back post. br>br>Cheap plastic and heat don't mix. Heat easily warps, swells, and weakens cheap plastic. When you add in the ever-present threat of terrorism, you have a recipe for disaster. When you turn the unit on its pivot and it comes to a stop, there is a slight "torque" applied. br>br>The heat on the plastic, combined with the torque, plus 10 months of use, caused the entire rear support post to split open, exposing the gearing mechanism and wiring (see Michael Clark's review and photos). br>br>I've contacted Conair several times for a warranty replacement, and nearly a month later, I still haven't received it. Their customer service department appears to need a nudge every now and then to get things moving. br>br>Be aware that operating this unit necessitates the use of "kid gloves. " Clean the unit only after it has cooled completely and the plastic has firmed up, and avoid using torque when pivoting the unit, especially when it is hot.
2/23/17We received it today and put it to use. I don't know what else to say. br>Wowbr>Perfectbr>Buy itbr>br>5/19/17 Uh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh Oh, and there's a new update - It's been less than three months since it was born. 6 times in total. The hinge broke and flew off when I used it tonight. Look at the images below. When I bought it, I registered it on the Cuisinart website. So I emailed the photos to customer service. I'll keep you updated as soon as they respond. br>br>In the meantime, I'm downgrading it from a 5 to a 2 because it makes fantastic waffles, but it has an exploding hinge. Today is 5/31/17, and I received the replacement waffle maker. I had to do the following in order to obtain it:
1- br>2- Send the replacement to Cuisinart for $10. Send the broken one back for $30 via USPS Priority Mail. 68br>br>I'll have to think about it before buying another Cuisinart product (we already have a few).
It wasn't supposed to be, though. The first waffle maker had a dent in it, so it was returned with a replacement on its way. The second one arrived two days later, with a dent in it as well, though not as bad as the first. After shipping, both boxes were in good condition, so they must have come from the factory in that condition. It was sent back to Amazon, and a third replacement was on its way. It arrived in two days and was absolutely fantastic. Fingerprints were all over it, and batter stains ran down the sides, indicating that it had been used. The mechanism that holds the griddle in place after it has been turned was also loose and did not keep it level. I'm guessing that's why the first owners gave it back. As a result, it was returned to the store for a refund. We finally gave up after the third one. It's too bad.
On July 17, 2019, Amazon will be selling the F20 Double Belgian Waffle Maker. I tried to use it for the first time on September 6, 2019, but it was too late for Amazon's return policy. When I turned it on, it started beeping incessantly before shutting down. I tried turning it on several times and got the same result each time. I attempted to contact Cuisinart's consumer service by phone because it had passed the Amazon return window. I was put on hold for nearly two hours every time I called, at which point I gave up and hung up. On September 6, 2019, I attempted to reach them via email. I was asked for the make, model number, and proof of purchase, which I provided. I've tried contacting them several times since then to find out if and when I'll get a replacement (it's still under a three-month warranty). warranty of one year). I haven't heard back from Cuisinart as of October 3, 2019, so if you buy a Cuisinart product from Amazon, check it out to make sure it works before the Amazon return window closes (usually 30 days). Otherwise, you'll have to deal with Cuisinart customer service, and you might not get a replacement for months, if ever, like I did.
We wanted to like it, but we don't like it at all! In our family, waffles are taken very seriously. We bought this to replace a Kitchenaid double belgian waffle maker that got wet and stopped working. My MIL has perfected a batter that you have to get married to find out the recipe for. What a waste of time. This is so cheaply made that it feels like it's made out of plastic. It's the first time I've used it, and I don't think it'll last very long. Because the waffle iron's diameter and depth are smaller than those of the kitchenaid, batter was constantly spilling out the sides. The waffles were not crispy when they were cooked. We tried spray oil, butter, and longer cooking times, but the waffles turned out to be either floppy or burned. There isn't a stopwatch in sight - What are you talking about? I gave it two stars instead of one because I know we're picky when it comes to waffle makers, but this one was just plain bad. I realize that small appliances are meant to be disposable these days, but they should at least work well while they work, which is a shame because I researched and researched and this was the best option I could find; I realize that small appliances are meant to be disposable these days, but they should at least work well while they work. That is not the case here.
