In my effort to package three bone in NY Strip steaks, I made a mistake. It seemed that the first bag took in air from some spot that could not be detected. As a result of a rough edge on the steak bone, the second bag was punctured during the sealing process. It would be possible to double them up, but I would lose out on the savings if I did. However, I suspect the quality of service you get is directly related to the price. The Food Saver compatible brand bags I purchased on Amazon were twice as thick as those I used to use, so I used the other bags from a different brand, which worked just fine. I have purchased other Food Saver compatible brand bags from Amazon before that didn't work. The only thing I wanted was to find a brand that shipped in large quantities. Approximately-sized twist-tie sandwich bag) "packaging" that the bags came in was open (no twist-tie), unsealed, and bag just moved within. It seems like I was going You can't tell if there's one bag or two because they stick together, and the bags are so thin they stick together. The Foodsaver brand vacum sealers will not work with these bags. As soon as I switched to the original Foodsaver bags, the third vacuum sealer functioned properly. A brief update I just received a second batch of bags from the FoodVacBags people to replace the first batch of bags that wasn't working. I changed my review to a 4 star rating because the first bag I used seemed to work just fine on my Foodsaver vacuum sealer.
