Yes, if it's frozen, it'll be shaved. You'd have the most trouble cleaning up.
We use regular ice cubes, and they work great! Simply a store-bought bag of ice or frozen ice cubes:
Wal- They're $8 at Mart on the web.
It's a little loud, but it's also very fast, so the noise isn't a big deal. Despite being sensitive to noise, it does not bother me.

I purchased the Zeny ice shaver with the expectation of a fluffy snowy texture as the end result. When large chunks of ice began to spit out in a snow cone slushy type of ice, I was disappointed. Perhaps my blade wasn't positioned correctly. Because it leaks a little, I recommend using a towel under the machine while using it. The machine is extremely fast, and it would be ideal for making snow cones.
Okay, this is one of those times when it's best not to go out late at night and buy things. or is it? br>I bought this on the spur of the moment after my daughter received a Snoopy Snow Cone machine and I wondered if there were any real Ice Shavers for home use that were reasonably priced. br>br>As usual, Amazon provided a plethora of options. This one appealed to me because it had an industrial feel to it and was reasonably priced. br>br>This thing is built like a tank, and it makes incredible shaved ice. I bought flavorings as well: ) and now, whenever we want, we can get shaved ice like at a fair. I've also had success with it and frozen fruit. br>br>This is a fantastic device. We tried the plastic home snow cone machines, but they either didn't cut the ice well enough or broke after a few uses. We decided to spend a few extra dollars (literally a couple of dollars and not much more) on a more industrial snow cone machine. br>Major Prosbr>• Very durable – we have treated the item like any other household item being shoved into cupboardsbr>• Easy to clean – with the ice, there will be water dripping from the snow cone machine; a dish towel will suffice. It is easy to shave shaved ice for 4 snowball cone pizzas with an ice bowl that it fills cleanly - there is a metal bowl to cover it and you can throw ice directly into the cones - fast food style ice shaving: one piece per 4 cone. snow cone machine of high quality.
So, rather than renting a snowball machine from the local rental store, I decided to order this. Every time my grandkids come to visit, I ask if they want snowballs, and even my 2-year-old grandson requests them. I make my own syrups, and my SO says we need to make room in our camper for them. DIY snowball syrups 2 cups sugar and 1 cup water bring to a boil stirring after 1 minute remove from heat add 1 packet unsweetened Kool aid or 1/2 teaspoon extract (we made Banana, Cherry, Orange, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Berry Blue).
It looks like snow and isn't too loud, so I'm glad I went with this one. It's well worth the money because there aren't many solid ice pieces in it.
It arrived quickly, especially considering it didn't come with priority shipping. The only problem is that due to the angle of the blade, the ice shoots out of the container to the right, but this is easily fixed. To catch the snow, I'm just going to use a different container. In less than a minute, I had a snow cone, and the best part is that I didn't have to use any sugar. To go along with my keto diet, I got some free syrups! I did, however, put a towel underneath it, as suggested by another reviewer, because some of the ice inside does dissolve over time. It will be simple to clean. It's a big machine with a lot of noise, but I really like it!.
I was excited to make margaritas, so as soon as I got this, I cleaned it out according to the instructions. Even after washing the device several times, it was clear that there were large to medium metal shards in the ice. I let the ice melt, and at the bottom of the glass, there was about a half-inch of metal shards. I contacted the seller about possibly trading in my unit for another, but I have yet to receive a response, and this piece of junk sits on my counter, unused. Make sure your glasses don't have any metal shards!.
Regular ice cubes quickly acquire a texture similar to that of regular ice cubes. Suitable for use in the snow Cones, slushes, and margaritas are all on the menu. The safety mechanism has been well thought out. Extremely tough. It's very transportable. It runs on standard household current. br>(Unlike cheaper snow cone systems, this does not produce grainy ice pellets. ) )br>br>CONS: )br>br> It's a disaster waiting to happen. The bowl is just big enough to hold a standard "red cup" of ice without spilling. The ice shoots out at a slight angle and with a lot of force, splattering snow all over the place and melting quickly on room-temperature surfaces. It's a little too loud. While the bowl can be removed and a hole about the size of a cup can be found, doing so requires operating the unit that hangs over the edge of the counter. Furthermore, even after cleaning and wiping it down after each use, there always appears to be some water in it when it comes time to put ice in it. Definitely do this over a towel and let it dry. UNCERTAINTY: br>br> I haven't had to replace the blade yet, and I'm not sure how to do it.
