Hawaiian Shaved Ice Kid-Friendly Snow Cone Machine, 120V, White

I was so excited to get my hands on this product, and I wanted to love it! I'm pregnant and crave anything cold and crunchy, so this could have saved me a lot of trips to the drive-through. I tried for a few days to like it, but the texture of the ice was just so-so. I could have dealt with it because it was worth it for $35 and the convenience of making cold treats at home! I hadn't even had the product for a week when I decided to make a slushy drink with it today. I finished when I discovered several pieces of shaved plastic mixed in with the ice crystals. I intend to return the machine and invest more money in a higher-quality machine. It's both disgusting and aggravating.

I received it today, 5/8/18, and tested it today. Semi- Although it is of low quality, it is simple to put together. For the machine to start, the plastic cover must be pried down into the locking mechanism groove, and I thought it was just a simple fold-down. Little Snowie brands have a down lid. The ice is shaved to some extent, but it's not as soft, fluffy, or snowy as I'm used to with more expensive brands. It does shave the ice, but it has a different texture than ice crystals. I tried adjusting the blades to the middle position and still got the same results; when pushed all the way forward and bolted back down, the engine sounded like a loud chain saw, smelled burnt, and didn't shave the ice; I tried adjusting the blades to the middle position and got the same results; As a result, I was forced to return to my original position. br>This is a decent starter ice shaver for kids' snow cones; at the very least, it's an improvement over the Snoopie hand crank; However, for the quality received, it is a bit pricey. You could spend a little more for something better, or you could get this one and it will suffice.

I bought this for my wife in March 2015 because she enjoys plain shaved ice, and this provides a nice "snowy" texture that is far superior to the refrigerator's ice crushing feature. It's been in use for a while now. It has been running flawlessly for the past two years. I'm going to buy a new replacement blade from their website because the ice is coming out slower lately. I can't say enough good things about this little guy. br>br>In terms of noise, yes. It's about the same volume as a regular blender crushing ice, so make sure anyone nearby can hear you. But for $30, what could be better? This is an amazing offer.
