Yes. I tried using the step down voltage regulator because it was supposed to use the lower Japanese voltage. However, the slightly higher US voltage proved to be superior in terms of performance. I'm not sure how much more strain it puts on the motor or how long it will last. I use it for a few minutes before unplugging it.
They won't be able to sell just the blades. If the blade is broken, you must contact the manufacturer.
Yes. It's actually a lot easier, and it's how I prefer to do things. Although, as expected, shaved ice from ice cubes is not as fine, the ice formed disc occasionally spins or sticks and will not shave ice.
No, it isn't a loud noise.

Because it runs on 100 volts, I bought a voltage converter to go with it to be safe, especially since the machine is so expensive. It's simple to use once you get the hang of it. Rotate the knob to the left to get finer ice, and to the right to get coarser flakes, when facing the machine. Maintain consistency by adjusting the blade as the ice block shrinks. br>Compared to a manual model, it's a lot faster. At my daughter's party, I used this machine to create shave ice. It took over an hour to make the shave ice, but the kids loved it! br>The only drawback is that it only comes with two molds, and getting more is prohibitively expensive ($50 for four at the time I checked). I freeze the ice, pop it out of the molds, and store it in a gallon ziploc bag. I haven't yet attempted to make ice with my own. Yes, the shave ice aunties and uncles in Hawaii do that for a reason; the picture shows shave ice made from about 2 blocks of ice; you must pack down the ice as it comes out of the machine. )br>It's pricey, but it makes shave ice similar to what you'd find in Hawaii.
The size of the ice tray is ridiculous. The two ice cups it came with only hold enough ice for one bowl of shaved ice; in short, it does the job, but it's not worth the money at that price.
