It does take time to learn how to use this properly. When it comes to sharpening knives, these are excellent if you've ever used sharpening stones before. The first thing you need to do if you are new to sharpening stones is to watch several youtube videos on how to use them properly. My opinion is that it is worth the effort although it takes time.
