An easy way to remove tough rust from knives without having to exert excessive

Rinse the rust eraser in cold water for ten minutes before squeezing out any remaining rust

Wash the knife carefully after the rust has been removed by scrubbing. Once the rust has been removed, Rinse the knife again.

Soaks are bad for the skin. Then with knife, a few drops of water and a blade will be sharpened.

Whether or not it is rusty is determined by the amount of Some cases make it easier to start with the medium and finish with the fine. So, if the abrasion is heavier, it is best to start with the medium and finish with the fine.

Will this work on knives made from HC and SS?

In short, yes. This rust easer is a must-have for knives made from quality stainless steel and high carbon steel. For both, it works just fine. However, it does take a bit longer for knives made of high carbon.

Xacto and other small hobby knives like this Rust Eraser work with it?

In the past, I have had the following experiences It will not replace metal that has pitted (It will not remove rust that is deep under the surface). A light level of flash rust should not be problematic on an Xacto Knife.

They are great if you want to get loadup off of your waterstones, and one of them even has a little bit of rust on it! I almost giggled when I got to use it as it was intended. I got rid of tiny spots of rust with the fine one in no time at all. In addition to cleaning whetstones, this set will serve as all that you need. It is a fantastic tool, and at a great price, I couldn't be happier with my purchase, unless they made tacos, but I understand that is asking too.

You make it look easy! The process is so simple! I like this so much! It is evident that the images tell their own story. It turned out I forgot to take a "before" photo until halfway through because I was too excited to get started.

There are some of you out there wondering if this works, and I would like to explain how it works. A whetstone is exactly like this, except that the material isn't stone it's a bit more flexible like those old fashion red erasers that we used to make those cool spots with with our pencils. Both rough and smooth grit sizes were included in my order. As it's basically a whetstone, it works like a belt grinder at removing the top layer of steel from knives. These are great for stainless steel, but be careful with Damascus, it will remove the acid etching layer and dull the look considerably. However, if you know the coffee trick, you can bring your steel right back to life again.

I am very impressed with the way it works

It is impossible for me to praise them more highly than they deserve. You can count on them! My use of these on several small restoration projects has been impressive and I am looking forward to using them on more projects. Not too abrasive, with sufficient time and elbow grease you will remove all impurities from I have even used these to touch up a few edges, when they needed very fine abrasives to make the tiniest I even used to hate the eraser these are based on, for actual writing, because of how they felt in the hand and the sound they made plus their texture, even their smell when used for sustained periods. However, these rust erasers do not have even a single one of these minor faults. They are so wonderful that I can't think of any negative things to say about them, except for the fact that not enough people know about them!.

The rust and dirt are easily removed after cleaning whetstones with it

It's great to clean your knives and whetstones with these. The first thing I thought when I saw the package was that they were rubber erasers like those used to clean sandpaper. As they are removed from the load, they do not wear off or grind down. Among other uses, I use these to clean my 300, 600, 800, 1000, and 1200 whetstones, as well as cleaning rust on other metals. products allow my stone to look like new stone once It is a pleasure to recommend these products to you.

You will need a finer grade stone if you really want to do a mirror polish, but this will get rid of the worst of the surface rust quickly and easily and either allow you to refinish further with a finer grade stone or not at all

This is extremely easy because it's flexible, so you can follow a small groove or curve on the metal you're working on. Start out by applying some grit stone to the surface or (if the finish doesn't matter to you) protecting the surface with oil or wax. You can't polish very small indentations smaller than about 1mm with this, but it's great for dealing with rusty fan blades by sweeping the material in gentle curves and sweeps. The speed at which it works pleasantly surprised me, too.

Another set will likely be purchased so that I'll always have a stainless steel one on hand in my kitchen (for those few stainless steel items that aren't), as well as a set for the shop when restoring old.

I really like the way it works

A number of old knives that had become discolored were restored. The product was perfect for cleaning old kitchen knives that were discolored and soiled from deep age stains that steel wool and cleaner could not remove. Whenever you have deep embedded stains on any material, these are definitely worth recommending. Pots and pans have not been tried yet, but they are my next project. Any stains that steel wool and/or cleanser have not removed can be taken care of with steel wool.
