The rice is cooked well in the rice cooker. Despite that, my biggest problem is the ventilation inside the lid, which renders the whole thing useless. There is no splash guard to prevent liquid from escaping and messing up the microwave as the water in the rice cooker bubbles right out of the vents. It's kind of odd that a rice cooker with vents has them, but there is not an insertable splash guard.
The product I bought is exactly what I wanted. With my old rice maker I had it for more than 10 years and this cooks faster than the old one. As far as I am concerned, it gives directions for also cooking pasta ( I have not tried this yet). I am so impressed with this rice cooker that I even bought She will let me know when she gets back to me. She will be pleased as well, I'm sure.
The directions for this product told me to make 2 cups of rice. Instead, I got 2 cups of fluffy rice and 1 cup of nice brown rice. I saw two things when I opened my microwave 1) a lump of gooey rice that was barely edible, and 2) steam dripping everywhere throughout the structure. Although I was initially enthused by the prospects advertised about this product, I now find myself less inclined to recommend.
I'm very satisfied with it. I think this is a good product made from quality materials. I like the directions that are terse and The price of this one was significantly less than the previous one, so I am not sure what I would have missed.
