Since I only use it for white rice (which is 20 years old), I haven't tried anything else! This seems to take about 20 minutes to complete, but it does take a long time For one cup of rice, it takes about 25 minutes, for two cups, it takes about 35 minutes Is it 10 minutes or so? The unit automatically switches to Warm when done, and it can handle more cups as well. Time does not need to be entered. Simple as that. After you rinse/swish/drain the rice in the pot a couple times, add the correct amount of water to ensure the rice is cooked to the correct doneness. Towards the outside. It's made by Zojirushi. There is no artificial intelligence. An LED and an LED driver Prepare food by cooking or warming. The switch is on. The second I pulled the cooker out of the box I saw a big ding, so I knew from the beginning this was an incorrect product. Invest your 136 dollars in a Tiger or other product that may last you your lifetime because this substandard product will waste your time and funds.
Zojirushi provides the best value for money in this unit. I tend to steer clear of the more complicated models, such as the Micom, as they have many complicated features. A product like this is simple, like those used by the NHS. Moreover, it is more expensive compared to NHS models, but is of higher quality as well.
In terms of performance, we did not expect anything less! In our newer rice cooker, we still keep the rice hydrated longer with its suction lid than our twenty year old one because it's a simple "cook and keep warm" type of rice cooker. That's what we think!.
Since I purchased it from a military base, I have been using a zojirushi rice cooker for 30 years, maybe every eight to ten years.
