Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it with a European plug?

Europe has a variety of plugs.

Is it safe to put the drip tray and water container in the dishwasher?

Yes. They can be washed in the dishwasher!

Is it possible to use the letter k in your sentence? Are there any cups in this machine?

You won't be able to do that. You can buy them on amazon or through nespresso (both for the same price). I just went to a nespresso store and the employee told me that ordering them from nespresso is safer (safety standards are higher).

I used to think espresso was bitter, but I can't go back to regular coffee now! Also, BEWARE: It is NOT a returnable item
4/5

Because I'm new to coffee, I assumed that all espresso was extremely bitter. That was, after all, my experience the first time I tried it. But when I saw this on sale for around $60 on Black Friday, I decided to give it a try. Wow. What a pleasant surprise! I've had a Keurig for about ten years, but it's going to be donated because I haven't used it since I got the Nespresso. This machine's espresso is so good that I only need half the amount of sweetener I normally use in regular coffee. Coffee tastes like dishwater because of its bright, intense flavor. br>br>Now, about this particular machine: I had no idea what it should or shouldn't do because it was my first foray into the Nespresso world. There are only two sizes available: medium and large. Lungo, which yields about 3. 25 ounces of espresso, and Espresso, which yields slightly more than an ounce of espresso. 5 ounces. The best part is that these buttons can be customized in any way you want! Is your espresso worth more than one ounce? Simply press and hold the button to begin, then release it when the amount you desire has been reached. After that, you'll only get that much espresso. It's also possible to revert the buttons to their factory settings. br>br>The first thing I noticed was that this baby was ready to go in 30 seconds after turning it on. So there's no need for clocks or timers to turn the machine on in advance, and it turns itself off after nine minutes, saving a lot more energy than the Keurig and most other coffee makers. br>br>The second thing I noticed is that it's loud, but that's to be expected from an entry-level machine that's putting a lot of pressure through that little pod. br>br>Third thing: It cools down quickly because it emits such a small amount of liquid. This is where the milk heater/frother comes in handy. I haven't bought one yet because I prefer iced espresso, but if you want a hot drink, you'll have to either heat the milk yourself or buy a frother that also heats the milk. br>br>Fourth: if you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innov Because this machine drips for a long time after making a cup, you'll end up with coffee all over your counter unless you leave the cup under the spout. My machine appeared to be leaking at first, and it very well could be. Even if it's just the dripping, it's an annoyance that Nespresso should address, even on their entry-level machines. br>br>And while we're on the subject of low-cost housing, A few weeks after the Inissia for sale on Amazon, another Nespresso model, the Essentia Mini, became available. As you may have guessed, I figured it would be good to have a backup anyway, and it would be interesting to compare and contrast the two units since they were so cheap. According to what I've read, the Essentia Mini does exactly the same things as the Inissia, but in a housing that's roughly half the size of the Inissia! It's so small that it resembles a storage cabinet for espresso pods rather than an espresso machine. The Essentia Mini's water reservoir and storage bin for used pods are both slightly smaller. The Essentia Mini, on the other hand, excels in the following areas: drips. It continues to drip, but not nearly as much or for as long as the Inissia. It also lacks the inconvenient flip-up cup holder that allows you to place cups directly beneath the spout (though keep in mind that the Essentia has a shorter clearance). br>br>Apart from that, the two machines are identical in terms of output and operation. I've decided to keep the Essentia Mini because of its small footprint and the fact that I'm still suspecting the Inissia of having a leak. There's a lot more espresso on my counter than I think the dripping after it makes a cup of espresso can account for. br>br>And now for a major disclaimer that has nothing to do with the machine and everything to do with Amazon: Think again if you think you'll be able to return your Inissia to Amazon, even if you're still within the return period. When I attempted to return mine, I was told that it was "ineligible for return. " Three different Amazon agents told me the same thing, but none of them could explain why Amazon wouldn't accept it back! Nothing in the item description indicated that it was ineligible, and it does not meet any of the criteria for being ineligible. (One representative tried to convince me that the reason was because the machine contained glass parts! No, there isn't any glass in there, and even if there was, I've returned items containing glass to Amazon before without issue. ) br>br>Eventually, one of the agents said they'd refund my money if I sent a picture of the machine leaking. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! A photograph does not establish that a machine is leaking! And, besides, I'd already carefully packed it for return. Regardless, I jumped through all of their hoops. So I unpacked the machine and took a photo of it on the counter with espresso drips. And Amazon refunded my money with no requirement that I return the machine.

CAPSULE LOADING CAN BE DIFFICULT
4/5

When this machine arrived, I was ecstatic to use it. It also includes a sample pack of 14 capsules. The guidelines appeared to be straightforward: Fill the water tank, turn it on, load the capsule, and press start; the problem is that the first capsule wasn't seated correctly and was crushed beyond use when my BF loaded it. I went back over the instructions a couple of times - There was nothing special about loading, so I did it myself, and the result was the same crushed capsule (see photo). I figured we'd finish all of our samples before enjoying a cup of espresso at this rate! I went to the Nespresso website to watch a video, which appeared to be simple enough, but I noticed that the woman in the video angled the capsule slightly when she inserted it. Nowhere in the instructions does it mention this. As I inserted the third capsule, I used a flashlight to look inside and saw that the capsule does, in fact, need to tip back when inserted in order to seat properly. The shape of the hole on the top of the machine matches the shape of the capsule, so it's natural to want to put the capsule in straight (photo 2), but if you look inside (photo 3), you'll see that you need to tilt the capsule back slightly, as shown in the last photo. It's simple enough once you've made the connection, but hopefully this will prevent others from wasting pods. I'm hoping that Nespresso's instructions will be updated to reflect this. The espresso, on the other hand, is served hot. tasty. When someone makes a cup of coffee, the house smells like an Italian cafe (in a good way). Last but not least, make sure the drip tray is in place. When you reopen the top, the machine has a tendency to drip, not a lot but enough to make a mess on your counter if you don't pay attention.

After three months, I was unable to complete the project
3/5

On arrival, there were issues. Inconsistent quantity in lungo mode by 50% We got our money back from Amazon, but we kept using it for espresso. After three months, it was no longer able to pierce capsules and was discarded.

I'm totally smitten
5/5

This is the greatest invention of all time. Where has this been for the past twenty years of my life?! I'm totally smitten. This is the greatest invention of all time. I no longer cry when my alarm goes off in the morning. I drag myself out of bed, stumble downstairs, press a button, load a pod, press another button, and wait 10 seconds for hot, deliciously STRONG coffee. br>br>Take care of yourself!.
