Questions & Answers

What is the difference between an ena 1 micro machine and an a1 machine?

Because my office has an Ena Micro 1, I was introduced to the Jura; I adore the coffee it produces and drink about 6 cups per day. I bought the A1 for home with the expectation that it would be similar, if not slightly better, due to the addition of PEP and a better grinder. The A1 was actually a letdown for me. I thought the coffee tasted weak and lacked flavor (I used the same beans we'd been using at work). I used it at home for about 10 days before ordering an Ena Micro 1 to try alongside it before returning one of them because I suspected I was imagining the A1 wasn't as good. Even after several cups, I discovered that the Ena Micro 1 makes better tasting coffee, even when compared side by side, using the same beans (medium roast Toms Malawi), the same grinder knob position (original default), and the same water amount programmed. br>I know the A1 sounds great when you read about the upgrades, but I'm confident that the Ena makes stronger coffee that tastes better to me.

Is there a setting that allows it to stay on for a certain amount of time before turning off after a certain amount of time?

Despite what someone else has said, the Jura A1's operating manual confirms that the shut-off switch is active. You can make up to 8 ounces per cup, and for those who prefer it, the strength can be reset to extra strong. br>After a set amount of time, the machine will notify you that it needs to be cleaned thoroughly with Jura 2 stage tablets.

With one full tank of water, how many cups of coffee can it make using the largest cup size?

If 3 cups of 8oz (largest size) coffee are made at once, the water tank will hold about 3 cups of water; however, because the machine uses water to rinse when it turns on and off, the tank will hold less if it shuts down. But, because it's such a great coffee, I can forgive it for needing to refill it more frequently than my now nearly 16-year-old larger Jura.

In ounces, how big is the biggest cup of coffee this machine can make?

Despite the fact that the book demonstrates how to program the A1 to make longer coffees, IT WILL NOT WORK. According to the book, if you hold the espresso button down for three seconds, coffee will flow until you press it again. According to the book, coffee will flow from two spouts while doing this, but this machine only has one. When comparing the A1 to other machines on the JURA website, it is stated that the A1 cannot be programmed for longer coffee. br>The sellers and JURA must revise the instruction manual and delete the programming instructions. This machine is a loser for me because it does not allow me to program longer coffees. I'm returning it and replacing it with a D6 model.

With a near-perfect score, this is a fantastic machine

flaw that is fatal. I have never used a better superautomatic coffee machine. It's compact, functional, easy to clean, and attractive. However, the incredibly stupid design of the bean hopper lid nearly convinces me not to purchase it. br>br>There is a small plastic tab protruding from the bean hopper lid. Unless that delicate little tab is inserted into a slot near the hopper's edge, the machine will not work. The handle on the lid was made to look good rather than function well. As a result, removing the lid is simple. When I dropped my lid the second time, the plastic tab broke off and fell to the floor. Zap. Coffee is not being made by the machine. br>br>I discovered that removing the lid and inserting a screwdriver into the slot allowed the machine to make coffee. So I waited a week with a screwdriver protruding from the top while waiting for the $30 replacement part to arrive. br>br>Jura should fire the engineer who designed this lid. mechanism of interlocking I would recommend something else instead if there was something else on the market that met my needs as well as this A1 Ultra Compact. However, this is not the case. br>br>Now I keep that screwdriver in the kitchen drawer, ready for when it breaks again.

Be Wary of the Buyer After a year, the machine broke, and Jura refused to honor the warranty
3/5

Jura will not honor its two-year warranty. My machine stopped working a little over a year after I bought it on Amazon - The machine was no longer dispensing coffee and was leaking profusely from the bottom, so I contacted Jura, who confirmed that it was covered under warranty. They refused to cover because the seller I bought the machine from was not an "authorized Jura dealer," so I provided my receipt proving the purchase date of a new machine. Jura's website can be found here. They do not provide a list of their authorized resellers. You can't tell who is an authorized dealer and who isn't by looking at the Amazon website. It does not appear to be fair. Jura will now charge me an extra $220 to repair the machine. Jura has deceived me before, and I'm not going to fall for it this time. So much for Swiss customer-centric policies and quality. br>It's time for an update: In July of 2021, the machine broke again, and they demanded $220 to fix it. I objected, and they offered to let me trade it in for a newer Jura model at a reduced price, which I took advantage of, despite my reservations about Jura following my experience. Instead of paying to repair an unreliable machine, I now have a warranted product. Avoid the A1 machine. It is unreliable and repairs are expensive.

***8-MONTH UPDATE (BELOW) CONVENIENCE AND CONSISTENCY I know it's only been a week since I purchased the Jura A1, but it's already proven to be a great product that makes excellent coffee
5/5

br>I don't need any specialty drinks, and if I do get visitors who want something different, I have a milk frother that works well with them. With three different drinks, ristretto, espresso, and lungo (or large coffee), as well as two different strength settings, this makes a great cup of coffee, plain and simple. For me, there are plenty of options. br>Here are a few of the features that I'd like to call attention to:
- Turn on quickly and be ready to gobr>- Coffee is quickly brewedbr>- You can program anything in between for all three options, up to 8 oz of coffee per cup, but no more. br>- Although the water reservoir and bean hopper are small in comparison to other machines, they do save counter space. Furthermore, both are very simple to fill.
- A nice amount of crema, but this is dependent on your coffee beans, so experiment until you find the ones that are right for you!
- The fact that it is truly one touch is fantastic! br>The PEP and Aroma grinder technology used in the machine is typically found in larger, more expensive machines. So, if you don't need a lot of options and just want a consistently good cup without having to learn to be a barista, the Jura A1 is the way to go. br>*** 8-MONTH UPDATEbr>It's been 8 months since I've used the Jura A1, and I'm still in love with it! We make at least 6 cups per day in my house, so the machine has been put through its paces well over 1,400 times. It still works as well as it did when we first got it and makes a great cup of coffee. br>I just finished the six-pack of cleaning tablets that I purchased, and I've replaced the filter three times since then. I've been prompted to change the filter several times, but since I use RO water for the machine, I decided to change it every other time it prompted. When I'm not changing it, I simply go through the cycle as if I were changing it to keep the machine track of it. So, in total, I've spent less than $100 on machine maintenance over the last eight months, plus the machine's initial investment, for an average of $0 per month. 60 cents per cup, which I consider to be excellent value! and a good deal for the quality of the brew, allowing you to spend some extra cash on trying out new coffee beans! br>Aside from your daily cup, one thing I like about it is how quickly it brews, which comes in handy when I'm entertaining and need to make 10 cups in a hurry!.
