Questions & Answers

What's the best way to make two cups of coffee at the same time?

Press the start button (not the on-off button) to make two cups of coffee at once. on and off switch) twice in a short period of time.

What country did this machine come from?

Jura's factory in Portugal produces this model.

To make only coffee from beans, you'll need a fully automated machine. It's fine if it makes espresso, but that's not my primary requirement. Is that a good match?

Yes, absolutely! It makes excellent coffee and cleans itself; no pods or filters are required. In addition, if someone requires a different type of bean, it has its own compartment. One of the primary reasons I purchased it is because it will last a long time. Coffee is amazing. It's been 14 years since my friend got his. It also produces excellent cappuccinos and espresso.

Is it possible to replace the milk with half and half?

Yes, but the lower the fat content of the milk, the better it froths.

I am a Jura Brand Loyalist - I am a troubled Machine
3/5

I've had the Impressa version for a long time and recently purchased a D6. Technology and manufacturing appear to be rapidly deteriorating. The first unit was returned because when the beans were not empty, they would flash as empty. The second usit has a slew of issues and has given up the ghost. Jura Customer Service is closed during COVID (as are the majority of companies), so I sent an email and am waiting for a response. I really want this to work and I really want to enjoy the coffee, but Jura hasn't delivered on the price they demand in terms of product or customer service.

The beans will not go into the grinder on their own
3/5

I had been using an ENA 4 for ten years or more when I decided to upgrade to a D6. In every way except one, the D6 is comparable to the ENA. Coffee beans are not consistently fed into the grinder. Instead of being deep and wide, the D6 bean tray is shallow and wide. Lower beans cannot be pressed into the grinder by the weight of the beans above them. Every two to three cups of brewed water, the beans must be manually pushed down.

Didn't live up to the hype - I believe I purchased my last Jura from Amazon, as well as the machine
3/5

I've invested in the Ena- 9, 2 Ena- 1's, and now this machine, whose box was in poor condition when it arrived. It appeared that the package had been opened. It was clear that the English manual had been used. Was this a returned item that I was given as if it were brand new? br>May Ena be a blessing in your life. 9 is by far the most well-built of the bunch, as well as being the oldest. When I returned it, Amazon gave me a lot of grief because one of the machines had been leaking water since day one. br>The design of this machine appears to be poor. The drip pan doesn't fit well, and the program button fails to respond at 50% of the time. I do not expect this piece of equipment to last for a long I'd take a look at some other options.

Check your machine; it might be able to be used even if it was purchased brand new
3/5

This product, on the other hand, has my full confidence. When I paid over $1000 for a new machine, the seller, Better Homes NJ, sent me one that was used. Coffee grounds and residue were found in the crevasses, as well as residue where the coffee beans were stored. Given the product's price, this is a major disappointment.

Fantastic Machine (Fantastic Machine) The best cup of coffee I've ever tasted - However, there is a caveat, which you can read about further down
5/5

We purchased this, but the price kept dropping, and Amazon refused to adjust the price, so I kept returning them until I found the best deal. Taking advantage of the "returns on investment" However, like most retailers (such as Home Depot), I'd prefer Amazon to adjust the price if it drops within 30 days. Enough about Amazonbr>br>Considering how great the coffee is and all the features, the Jura D6 is an incredible machine. (The bluetooth stuff is pointless because frothed milk requires a physical switch). br>br>The ONLY issue I encountered was one I had read about. People claimed that french roast beans would not provide adequate nutrition. In general, I only use Kicking Horse coffee (a blend of Kick Ass and Decaf). Some purists will object to what I do. I put the beans in the freezer. Many people believe you shouldn't, but the real problem is moisture. So, if you're going to freeze them, make sure they're completely sealed. I use Glad slide lock freezer bags and squeeze out as much air as possible. Beans feeding has never been a problem for me. UNTIL I ran out of Kicking Horse coffee and had to buy ONE bag of Star Bucks French Roast, which was very oily when I opened it. The feeder stopped working after only two cups. When my Kicking Horse coffee arrived, I gave the rest of it away to a neighbor. For about a week, it had some difficulty feeding ( 1. Despite the fact that there are 5 pounds of beans on the way. It works flawlessly after a week. Starbuck's beans have an oily texture that causes the feeder to malfunction. STAR BUCKS french roast beans will NOT work in this machine. br>br>If you prefer french roast, try Kicking Horse Kick Ass beans. Also available is a decaf version. This machine makes amazing coffee that I drink 2x as much as possible so I use 50% Kick Ass and 50% decaf coffee. Combine all of the ingredients in an AIR TIGHT bag and freeze. Never in my life have I felt more fulfilled. br>br>Everyone who visits enjoys the coffee and cappuccinos and never refuses a cup.

Excellent machine, which I strongly recommend
4/5

Between 2004 and 2008, I owned a Jura machine. 2010 I'm not sure what model it was, but it was fantastic. Over the last decade, I've tried everything to fix it when it finally broke. Pour over, cold brew, drip, percolator, French press, Keurig, and Nespresso are all methods of brewing coffee. Each has its own set of benefits and drawbacks, but it all came down to this: If you want a single cup of hot coffee that is freshly ground, strong, and has a nice crema but don't want to go through any hoops to get it, this is the place to go. You'll need to invest in one of these devices. br>br> BENEFITS- The coffee is freshly brewed and delicious. The cappuccino is also excellent; both the strength and volume can be adjusted to your preference. Very simple to make because the milk froth is very fine, it heats up quickly, and cleanup is simple. The espresso was good, but nothing special in my opinion. It's perfect for my wife and me because we only drink espresso on occasion. Highly adjustable and programmable, with an adjustable burr grinder, for just under $1000. We are empty nesters who consume approximately 5 to 6 drinks per day. The 7-ounce bean hopper, as well as the 64-ounce water tank, last a long time before needing to be refilled. From the off position, the machine quickly heats up and dispenses your beverage of choice. In essence, it cleans itself and looks good on the counter. br>br>CONS- If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be. The directions aren't very clear. To figure out the settings, which aren't particularly user friendly, you'll have to play around with the machine on your own. Buttons, knobs, and the overall feel are a little flimsy and plastic. Without snapping into place, the knobs dial to your desired setting via a 90s-style LED screen. More metal is something I'd like to see. br>br>However, the advantages vastly outnumber the disadvantages. The machine does exactly what I paid for it to do, and it does so well. It's also simple to use once you've figured out the settings and made them permanent. It has made me very happy.

Almost flawless, but dark roasted beans should be avoided
4/5

If you prefer a lighter roast, as I do, this machine is fantastic. I stopped using sugar because the coffee was so good. br>br>Our family consists of three adults. We've been consuming eight to twelve cups of coffee per day since the lockdown began. In the six months since we bought the machine, we've only had one issue: my daughter tried running dark roast and the grinder clogged after a few pounds. This is a non-starter for me. I have a problem with dark roasted coffee because it tastes burnt. However, I deducted a star because some people enjoy it and the unit should be capable of grinding whatever people want.
