Filter and cleaning must be done every 2 weeks to 30 days on this expensive machine
5/5

Pro's: Once you learn how to use it and adjust to your preferences, it makes a fantastic cup of coffee. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. For the middle class, this isn't the place to be. br>br>About every 2-years, the filter should be replaced. 3 weeks if you use it a lot. If you don't have one, you'll have to descale the Jura instead. Those filters cost a lot of money. br>br>Asks to be cleaned every 2 to 3 days. 3 weeks; Cleaning Tablets must be used, and it must be cleaned, or it will cease to function until you do so. Tablets are costly, but you can save money by using generics. br>br>OK, so you know how you can buy something CHEAP and then when you need to replace parts on it every now and then, THAT'S how they get you? The Jura, on the other hand, is EXPENSIVE, and you have to replace things frequently, so you're screwed on both sides. br>br>For Christmas, we usually buy one nice item, and this year it was a Jura. Every day, we consume a large amount of coffee. To be honest, my wife was irritated that I bought this because it was so expensive, but she now loves it for the coffee. But there's one thing I'd like to say. or even two or three br>br>THIS COFFEE MAKER IS NOT INTENDED FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS! It is likely to be expensive if you believe it to be so. We aren't particularly wealthy, so I reasoned, "Well, it'll pay for itself because. " you know. 'Starbucks' NOPE! , NADA! The price of this machine is actually higher than that of Starbucks. br>br>First and foremost, take a look at the price. What the hell is going on? br>br>Secondly, you should be aware that this creature consumes the entire coffee bean. I only bought a 2-pound bag of my favorite roast a week or ten days ago, and it's already 3/4 done. On my drip machine, the same bag lasted for at least a month. We'd watch this pride and joy go through its little song and dance as we began to use it. I like how self-cleaning it is, and how it cleans itself at the touch of a button. However, there is a cost associated with this luxury. It said to replace the filter after about two weeks of daily use. Now, keep in mind that we use distilled water, and the machine has a setting to accommodate this. I reasoned that the next filter wouldn't be used up as quickly, and that this was only a temporary filter, similar to the ink cartridges on a printer that aren't full size. right? br>br>My caffeinated pal, not so fast. The light turned on, and it said the filter had to be replaced right away in nice red digital words. I didn't have another filter at the time, so I ordered a three-pack from Amazon. I could keep making coffee as long as I was aware that doing so would necessitate descalement. Thanks to Prime, the filters arrived quickly, and I was able to replace it. We were ready to go after a song and a dance. It didn't say to replace it again until two weeks later. Remember how I got this for Christmas? I've replaced the filter three times by now, and it's February. In less than two months, I've had three. They aren't inexpensive, either. I know, I think to myself, I'll try to fool the machine by removing the old filter, waiting a few minutes, and then replacing it. That's all there is to it. NOPE! The Jura can tell if the filter is new or not because it contains an RFID chip. Jura, you've done a fantastic job. Cleaning. br>br> According to the machine. "Time to Clean Me" is written in digitally nice red letters. After inserting the tab, it's clean after 20 minutes. I didn't expect to have to do this on a regular basis. Remember when I said distilled water? Nope, I've cleaned twice since Christmas, the first time thinking to myself, "Well, let's see what happens. " It's very nice, and it's a lot easier to operate than other machines. Drop the tab in and press the button; it's that simple. But then. br>br>Second cleaning (by the way, when you buy the Jura, you get two tabs for free). I'm not going to clean it, so screw it. It needs to be cleaned, according to my wife, and I'll take care of it later. Until she informs me that it will not make coffee unless I do. As the local caveman, I reasoned, "Well, just hit the button without the cleaning tab," and so I did. Nope! It won't start unless you use a cleaning tab, so no coffee until it's finished. So I insert the second FREE tab, clean it up, and it's ready to use. When I went to Amazon to order more, the Jura brand was $52 for what, 12 or 15? I come across a generic that costs $15 for 25 tabs. br>br>However, despite this, it makes fantastic coffee drinks, so we'll keep it. One thing I discovered is that the glass milk container isn't actually required. Anything that holds milk, such as a glass or a carton of milk, will suffice. As long as you have the plastic tube that connects the milk to the machine, you're good to go. which, by the way, consumes a significant amount of milk. We started making regular coffee a lot more and saving the milk coffee drinks for weekends or an after-dinner treat, not so much as if it was the coffee beans, but it does use enough that you notice. br>br>Anyway, don't get me wrong: we adore this beast, and even my wife, who was initially intimidated by it, has learned to use it and tweak it to her liking. However, it will cost you, and if you're considering purchasing one, you should be aware of this. br>br>Just to put things in perspective, if you go on a top-of-the-line cruise. . . You know the one, the one with the earless creature as its mascot? If you book one of the top concierge rooms, you'll be given your own coffee maker, according to the hotel's website. If they're lucky, the rest of us get drip machines. But guess what coffee maker is in the room on this ship sailing the seas where you can spend $25k for a 5-day cruise in the Royal Suite? Yes, you guessed correctly. a Jura. For that kind of money, they'd better have plenty of filters and cleaning tablets on hand. br>br>Not suitable for middle-class people. 4/10/21: 4/10/21: 4/10/21: 4/10/21: 4/10/21: 4/10/21: 4/10/21: Additional Information; So I went without a filter, and the machine told me that I'd have to descale if I did so. I did some research and discovered that because I only use distilled water, descaling with a cleaning agent should only be done twice a year, just in case something needs to be cleaned out. I ran the descaler without a tablet this time because I didn't have one, and the machine asked for a new filter, but this time there was an option to remove the old one and click "No Filter," so I did. It now runs without it and only requires a thorough cleaning every six months with a tab. This will save you a lot of money because 12 tablets will now last you for 6 years. I'm willing to pay $18 for them.

UP TO THIS POINT, EVERYTHING HAS GONE WELL! ❤️
5/5

After 13 years of hard use, our previous Jura is still going strong. We decided to give it to one of our sons and replace it with this new E8 Jura, which is significantly smaller than our previous one. We were hoping for a repeat of the rich coffee flavor from the first one, and we were not disappointed in the least. We have friends who stop by just for a cup of "THE BEST CUP OF COFFEE EVER" at our house. br>If the price of this awesome coffee maker is deterring you from purchasing it, you will be pleased to learn that it is not as expensive as one top coffee machine that uses coffee pods. I had purchased three of them and was lucky if they lasted a year, and they were expensive to use due to the cost of the pods. I bought another top-of-the-line brand that ground the cup as it brewed; the flavor was decent, but it broke down before the second year. You could say I've tried a lot of coffee makers, but none of them have come close to making the VERY BEST CUP OF COFFEE EVER, and our previous one has served us well for the past 13 years, and I wouldn't be surprised if it served us well for another 13 years. Now is the time to invest in the best coffee maker available. ❤️.

This is a fantastic coffee maker, and I adore it
5/5

Before this one, we had the Jura F9 for 12 years. It was wonderful, but it was in need of its third repair, so we decided to replace it. In almost every way, the E8 is superior. Heats up quickly and continues to increase in temperature. There are many other specialties that are simple to make, such as one-button lattes. Compared to the old F9, this grinder is much quieter. I'm hoping it'll last as long as the previous one. The serving counter and a timer to turn on before you get up are both missing. However, it heats up much more quickly, so it's not a major issue. While the milk frother is a little more difficult to clean, it performs much better.

We love this machine from an espresso-making and low-maintenance standpoint
3/5

Filters and upkeep aren't cheap, but we believe it's worth it for what we currently get out of it. However, if you intend to use the milk foaming device, think twice about buying this machine because, while it works at first, you must clean it after each use. Then, if you're lucky, it'll work once it's been cleaned. Our "foam dispensing part" worked for a little over a year before we couldn't get it to syphon any milk after multiple back-to-back cleanings (as per their instructions). That's when it stops working; it won't take any milk or cleaning solution anymore. I looked at a lot of cleaning videos because this piece has a bad rep for being difficult to clean, and I went to the company's website twice to ask for help, and the second time to ask about filing a warranty claim. . . that was months ago, and I still haven't received a response to either message. This machine isn't cheap, but I really wish this company provided warranty coverage for their products. We would not buy another Jura because of the complete lack of support, but we do like what it can do with espresso; anything else is a waste of money.

Exceeded my expectations in every way
5/5

I used to own a Jura C9, which I adored, but it died after a long and happy life. When I came across the E8, I was looking for a factory refurbished C9. The PEP process, improved frothing/espresso drink features, and quieter operation were all factors in my decision to go with the latter. The setup and programming operations were surprisingly simple and intuitive. I can now make my caramel macchiato in just one step instead of two, and I was able to recycle my vacuum-sealed stainless milk container without difficulty. I'm in a good mood. br>The delivery process (Amazon) was one disappointment. Amazon is now making their own deliveries, and I can track them in the same way that UPS and Fedex do. However, I was told that a signature was required for the third time, so I stayed at home to ensure that I would be able to receive it, and no signature was required. The machine is great, but the delivery process is a bit of a pain.
