D. D. D. D. D. D. D. D. D. D The packaging is excellent. I believe the device had gotten wet during testing. I plugged in the unit after filling the bean hopper and water tank. The pump began to work, flooding the counter and the floor. Delonghi customer service was contacted and a ticket was created. While the device was failing, they held a video conference to see what was going on. In a few days, I haven't heard anything. I have yet to make a single cup of coffee with this device, but will do so as soon as more information becomes available. br>br>Now, the next one arrived a few days later. Delonghi's customer service is impeccable, and the machine performs exactly as advertised. I am completely satisfied. And caffeinated to the point of exhaustion. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> On September 1, 2018, the pump completely failed. There is no output and there are multiple alarms. Customer service gave it their all, but it's no longer functional. I sent the failed unit to Asurion (with insurance, of course). I'm hoping it'll be fixed as soon as possible. It's a fantastic machine, and I'm going to miss it terribly. For the time being, I'll have to rely on my trusty old French Press. As new information becomes available, I'll keep you updated on the saga.

In April of 2017, we bought this refurbished unit, and it died in April of 2019. The pump has failed, according to DeLonghi customer service. Since we bought the unit within the last four years (we must provide proof because we discovered the unit was originally sold as new in 2014) - They're offering to re-do the job. Refurbish the unit for $199 (including burr grinder cleaning) or give us 20% off any new unit from Delonghi. (When you consider that the current Amazon price is lower than what they are offering us, the discount does not appear to be very generous. ) )br>br>The espresso machine, on the other hand, was fantastic. It made excellent espresso and frothed milk more effectively than our previous Saeco machine, and it was simple to clean and operate. We were overjoyed until it passed away. br>br>As a result, buyer beware - A two-star rating isn't something I think about. to be acceptable, it must have a lifespan of at least one year. We also haven't decided if it's worth spending $200 to re-install the software. We had to recondition a machine that had originally cost us only $440. br>br>4/14/19 Update: br>A replacement pump is not available from Delonghi's official website; however, I googled the part and found one for $40 on Amazon. It appears to be working again now that I have a new pump. When I ordered a "refurbished machine," I didn't expect one with a three-year-old pump (and brew unit motor).

Autonomous! Our tried-and-true supercomputer Our daily routine was thrown into disarray when our automatic espresso machine broke down. We decided on the refurbished De'Longhi for its value and the ability to purchase an extended warranty to cover any future repairs because the cost of repair would have been about the same as what we paid for it. The machine was packaged well and arrived in perfect working order. It appears to be almost new and unused, making it difficult to believe it has been refurbished. The coffee produced after adjusting the grind and bean amount is excellent for a super-strong cup of coffee. It's only been a week, but we're very pleased with this machine, which is a step up from our previous Saeco Minuto machine.

My machine arrived yesterday, and lo and behold, DeLonghi has stopped putting screws into the mushroom cap, making it impossible to remove! I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I'M SEEING RIGHT NOW When I contacted the company, they "redesigned" it so that it would not be removed. No, it wasn't redesigned to prevent the beans from becoming stuck! DeLonghi, you are pitiful! I was told to put in only a day's worth of beans at a time by the customer service representative, but doesn't that eliminate the automatic feature? Having to put beans in every day appears to be a hassle. Before I even use it, I'm pretty sure I'll return it. IF YOU COULD HELP ME, I WOULD BE VERY GRATEF DO YOU KNOW OF ANY GOOD, RELIABLE AUTOMATIC ESPRESSO MAKER SUGGESTIONS? We don't even require it for high-end cocktails - There's nothing better than a strong cup of coffee.

I was in the market when my many-year-old Saeco, which I had repaired numerous times using YouTube and kits, finally died; I chose this because making a latte was less work than the Saeco. It was also hundreds of dollars cheaper than the Breville because it was an open box/refurbished unit. It's a good thing I went with the DeLonghi. It is necessary to read the instructions; however, once you have done so, it is very simple.

Thoughts? I have to keep a mug there because it is set to turn off automatically, and if I don't, the water fills up the base. But that's the extent of my dissatisfaction! It makes some of the most delicious coffee I've ever tasted!.

When I couldn't figure out where a part went, I was given instructions over the phone and via video on how to locate it. The constant use of water to rinse the system does not sit well with me: makes it necessary to fill the water container on a regular basis. I'm not thrilled with the grinder hopper, either, because I have to "help" the beans into the grinder on a regular basis. (And it has nothing to do with the oiliness of the beans. ) ) When it comes to blending power, I'm not sure what that means.

It's great, but it needs to be cleaned every two weeks (because we drink a lot of coffee). With this, I strongly advise using a filter and cleaning solution.
