Questions & Answers

Is it possible to get a very coarse grind from this mill?

It can grind anything from extremely coarse to extremely fine. For four reasons, it is the best pepper mill I've ever owned:
1. It has the highest output per turn or per second of any pepper mill, including $100 electric pepper mills, and it's still very easy to turn.br>2. The ability to adjust - ranging from extremely coarse to extremely fine, or anywhere in betweenbr>3. High-quality construction is essential. Even though the outside is plastic, the grinding mechanism and internals are made of stainless steel.
4. For its size, it has a massive capacity. Because the refill chamber takes up about a third of the total size, it doesn't need to be refilled very often!

When you close the fill-in form, does it make a clicking sound? Is it possible to "wander" without getting a ring or is it necessary to ring? Thank you so much! ?

When you close it, you will hear a very slight click, but it will never open freely. It's built in such a way that you don't have to turn the mill at all. I agree, it's a work of art!

Is the mill's interior plastic or metal?

The body (and thus the interior) is made of plastic. However, it appears to be a very tough plastic that is neither brittle nor inexpensive. br>The grinding mechanism is made entirely of metal/steel and is extremely durable. I wouldn't give a damn if the body was made of plastic or not.

What country does it come from?

If you hold it like a regular person, the peppercorns will not fall out, but the adjustment screw will not stay in place
3/5

Because of all the warnings about people opening the refill door by accident, I almost didn't buy this peppermill. It hasn't caused me any problems. Yes, the door and the grinder spin in the same direction—you wouldn't have anything to twist against if they didn't. I've included a video to demonstrate how much of a non-spin the door and the grinder are. This is a problem. br>br>It grinds consistently and is simple to operate. I was underwhelmed by the amount of peppercorns it stores (I had a fishbowl-sized container). Previously, it was peppermill, which held a lot more). br>br>I paid a premium for durability because I was fed up with cheap plastic parts breaking. As my copy ages, I'll update this review to let you know how it's doing. br>br>UPDATED IN JAN 2020: It's still working fine after a year of daily use; the screw that controls how finely it grinds doesn't stay where I adjusted it as well as I'd like, but I'm not picky. After a year, I'll update this post. br>br>CURRENT UPDATE: August 2020: The condition of the adjustment screw has deteriorated significantly. After an adjustment, there's nothing that can stop it from spinning. If I tighten the screw to grind finely, it loosens in just two or three twists, leaving me with a much coarser grind than I can stand, so I reduced my rating to three stars. Even single-use plastic grinders have detents that allow you to lock in your settings. I ended up using a drop of thread lock on the adjustment screw because I don't have a way to adjust coarseness any longer. At the very least, it's now set to the level of fineness I desire.

When wet, the performance is perfect; it produces an incredible amount of pepper, but it is a little slick
5/5

Ignore the price and refrain from comparing inferior products. If your hands are wet, it can be a little slick to use, but it's the perfect size and dumps an almost obscene amount of pepper per grind. Depending on how often you drop it, the metal grinding element is likely to outlast the plastic body. The countertop catch tray is great, and the filling hole isn't as awkward as some other reviewers made it out to be. The adjustable size ranges from ultra-fine to massive chunks (where I'll be leaving it for the rest of my life). br>br>At first glance, it appears ominous on your kitchen counter, as if it's some alien device watching you cook, but I've got a solution for both the appearance and the slipping issues. I wrapped two of the large purple rubber bands around the top part and three around the main body of the asparagus or broccoli or whatever it was. This makes it look a little more playful and less serious, and it also allows me to crank it up when my hands are wet or greasy. It's now perfect. br>br>Be sure to get a costco-style container. because you'll be drowning all your salads and omelets in heavy streams of course-ground peppercorns From now on, I'll use ground pepper. This thing has a TON of peppercorns in it, and it's nearly impossible to get even a smidge out of it (but who can taste a smidge of pepper anyway?). As a result, you'll end up churning through peppercorns like you're Mario and making your grandmother's Italian recipes. I just ran out of pepper today, despite the fact that I had only filled it a month ago and assumed it would last a year.

If you prepare a lot of food, it's a good idea to invest in it
5/5

Consider how much black pepper is called for in a recipe. You're well aware of the importance of fresh produce. The pre-cracked pepper is a different species than the pre-cracked pepper. So you grind it all up with your wooden, Italian-style grinder. a dining establishment You keep looking for a pepper mill until eitherbr>A) the cows come home,br>orbr>B) you give up, decide you've ground enough, and use a lot less pepper than you'd like. br>br>This unattractive, expensive, and ridiculously named pepper mill will produce a mind-blowing amount of pepper. It's a game-changer, comparable to Lasik or a well-done cosmetic procedure. Divorce at the right time. To put it another way, now is the time to jump in. Later on, you'll be glad you did.

Pepperpeople, welcome to the Major Leagues
5/5

In terms of functionality, this is the best pepper mill you'll ever own. When you twist the dangling thing, you'll get a full-fledged pepper explosion. KABOOM! Pepper is all over the place! If you don't like pepper, a finely pulverized pepperberry bit drizzled onto your bleu cheese ice cream or whatever you like to eat with freshly ground black pepper will suffice. br>br>I know where the pepper guts aren't going to end up. IT'S RIGHT THERE ON YOUR COUNTER. Unicorn has listened to your cries and included a small black saucer that fits perfectly on the bottom of the grinder and collects all of the pepper spit that other grinders leave behind, even after you shake them off. YES, IF ONLY UNICORN HAD DESIGNED THE IPHONE 7! The only drawback is that it won't work for salt, but UNICORN MAKES A SALT GRINDER VERSION IN WHITE: br>br>

Peppah, get a move on! Are you a fan of chili? My husband as well
5/5

Get this. Period. It may appear to be a bit pricey, but it is absolutely worth it. br>br>Of all the "cons" I've read, I'd have to say: Don't grind with wet, greasy hands (why would you do that?). You won't have pepper flecks all over your counter between your pot and the small dish it sits on if you give it a good shake after you're done grinding. Filling it isn't difficult; it works for both lefties and righties, and no one at our house has ever accidentally opened the fill hole. All of those complaints, well, we're real people, and we don't have any of them. br>br>Don't look any further; this pepper grinder is exactly what you've been looking for. br>br>Additional Information: Every time I see the name in a previous purchase, it makes me laugh. The "Magnum Unicorn" sounds like something out of a catalog for adults. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this way.
