Polyethylene is the same material used in foodsaver bags. I'm just not sure how many layers there are or if nylon is one of them. br>br>It's all plastic, right? So any kind of plastic bag will suffice? Right.
What could you possibly have 50 contiguous feet of that needs to be vacuum sealed if you're a freaking herpetologist?
No, the rolls are far too large to fit through the door. We did, however, save a few of the cardboard tubes from the used rolls, and rolled around 17 or 18' of material from the larger rolls onto the old tubes. We ended up with six smaller rolls that were perfect for the quick-rolling machine. dispenser with a cut
On the FoodSaver, it works perfectly. If you have a Food Saver with a bag cutter and roll compartment, just save the cardboard roller from the last package you used to roll 1/2 of the 50' onto it. 50' is too long to fit into the FoodSaver's bag-cutting chamber.

ones with a name Despite the fact that there is a slight - nearly imperceptible - Despite the weight difference, I was unable to detect any discernible difference in plastic thickness. They heat seal identically to name-brand bags, and the texture on the "up" side is the same. br>br>The only (potential) drawback I've discovered with these rolls is that the size they came in will not fit in my FoodSaver. This is, in my opinion, a non-starter. The leftover (probably about 30 feet) is left on the roll and stored for later use, as it only takes about 5 minutes to roll enough onto a 3/4" PVC pipe to fit into the machine. I'll gladly spend an extra few minutes "charging" my rolls to be used at a later date, especially considering how much money you'll save over the ridiculous price of the brand name bags. EDIT: br>br> I went ahead and measured the thickness of both the FoodSaver and the Commercial Bargains bags. The dimensions of both bags were identical. A digital micrometer with a thousandth-of-an-inch accuracy was used to measure 28mm thick. There is no discernible thickness difference.
I figured it deserved at least that. br>br>In June 2015, I purchased a brand new "FoodSaver GameSaver Deluxe. " In July, I also purchased two orders of these Universal Vacuum Bags 8" bag rolls (4 rolls total), as well as two orders of 11" and 8" bags (4 rolls total) when I purchased the GameSaver in June. My wife and I filled a 15-gallon canner with nearly 300 jars of garden produce. We have a 6 cubic foot chest freezer full of vacuum-sealed bags of more garden vegetables, as well as other items that we bought in bulk dry and vacuum-sealed. So, in order to give this product this review, I believe I have the necessary experience and have thoroughly tested it in normal everyday use over the course of a summer of gardening.
First and foremost, I wonder why the reviewer who gave the tip that you should probably double seal both ends of these bags because they Is this something you can accept? Is this the intended behavior of the product? br>br>When I use a brand new GameSaver and follow the instructions to the letter, and then go to the freezer and find bag after bag of vegetables with a visually perfect seal on both ends and air leaking into the bag, causing freezer burn on my food, I have to conclude that the bags are either defective or a poor product. br>br> Deluxe Version of GameSaver.
Since then, I've been putting away all of our leftovers and pre-cooking and freezing meals. Not to mention that because we shop at large bulk stores, we separate the food and seal it in food saver bags. The original bags are so expensive that I often wonder if they are worth it. As a result, I began looking for a new bag on Amazon. After some time had passed, I came across the.
We repackage the meat in food saver bags and store it in a deep freezer to keep it fresh for as long as possible. We forgot to pick up the bags at Costco before leaving Fargo this year, so I ordered these and hoped for the best. They work just as well as the brand name, with the exception that there is no small white space to label it. It didn't matter too much because I just scribbled on the smooth side, but make sure you seal it smooth side down, for whatever reason, it made a difference in our machine's sucking power with these bags. I have some left and will order this one again next year because it saves me money by eliminating the need for a small label line.
Where are the savings if I use my Food Saver to bag food? These are of excellent quality and a reasonable price; I use them to store my long-term freezer meats and they last for at least a year or longer, with no freezer burn. I use these to seal 'dishes' such as lasagna that I prepare in oven or microwave-safe containers. I can spend one day in the kitchen and have enough dinners for a month by simply heating it in the oven or microwave when I'm ready for a quick meal. The bags can also be submerged in boiling water to reheat rice, chili, or any other leftovers; simply cut the corner and pour into a dish. I freeze a container of chili or soup before sealing it. I take it out of the freezer and seal it before putting it back in.
