Hello,br>These bags, like the majority of plastic bags and rolls sold in this country, are made in China. (Manufacturers who claim their bags are made in the United States actually import the plastic from China or elsewhere and then form the bags out of the foreign materials.) ) Everything I sell has been lab tested, is BPA-free, and is manufactured in accordance with FDA food safety regulations. My family and I use these rolls at home. I would never sell something I wouldn't use myself. br>Thank you for your question, Lisa.br>
Each roll has an external width of 11" and a length of 50 feet. The dimensions of the rolls are 11" x 3" instead of 11" x 3" as stated in the description. The diameter is 5 inches. The top (clear) panel is 3 inches wide. The back panel (embossed side) is about 7 mils thick, while the front panel is 0 mils thick.
With my purchase, I got two rolls.
Hello,br>br>With FoodSaver machines, all of our bags and rolls vacuum and seal perfectly. However, because FoodSaver's roll compartments are small, you won't be able to fit a 50-foot roll in them due to the diameter being too large; however, there is a workaround if you want to keep the roll in the roll compartment. Simply roll out about half of the material, cut it off, and store it in your cupboard; the remainder will fit in the machine's roll storage compartment; when that is full, simply place the cut-off portion in the roll storage compartment and you're good to go. I keep the rolls in my cupboard and cut them with scissors, but everyone's preferences are different. br>br>Please let me know if you have any additional questions. br>br>Thank you,br>Vacuum Sealers Unlimited,br>Lisabr>

I've bought these three times and have had great success with them each time. However, one of the orders I received contained a roll that had been rolled incorrectly on the tube, resulting in wrinkles all over the roll. Despite the fact that they appeared to seal properly at first, every bag I made from this roll leaked and freezer burned the contents. br>br>So, if you receive a roll from the manufacturer with wrinkles, return it because it WILL leak air. Just wanted to give you a heads-up on something. br>Aside from that, it's a great product, and I've contacted the manufacturer to let them know about the problem.
These bags appeal to me. The stock ones that came with my Foodsaver vacuum sealer were no longer available. So I bought these instead. They were too large to fit in the foodsaver's built-in compartment as is, so I just re-packaged them. To make it fit, I rolled half of it. I haven't tried sealing anything with bones yet, but it appears to be strong enough to withstand punctures. With both dry and wet foods, these bags have held up fairly well. br>br>These don't have the "markers" that the foodsaver stock rolls did to help with a straight cut, but I can live without them. br>br>When I run out, I'll go out and buy some more. br>br>9th Update- So I've been looking into sous vide cooking, and it appears that it necessitates sealed bags that can withstand boiling (duh) without releasing chemicals. I've noticed that not all bags state whether or not they're safe to use for sous vide or boiling. Fortunately, this one claims to be correct. I'll keep you updated on how well the bags held up in the boiling water once my sous vide machine arrives and I get a chance to try it out with these bags. )br>br>update 1 )br>br>update 2 )br>br>update 3 Well, I've been using these with the sous vide machine, and they seem to be holding up just fine in the 170F water temperature for three days. 5 hrs. I've used them in the machine at the highest temperature and for the longest time. I can't tell if it's leaching chemicals based on the temperatures, but I don't notice any "abnormal" tastes, so I'm guessing it isn't: ) It serves me well in all of my needs, and I'm almost out, so I'm about to purchase some more:.
Since a few months, I've been vacuum packing a lot of food. I had run out of the packs I had, so I needed to replenish my supply. Taking very large rolls has the advantage of being able to cut them to any size. You won't have as much flexibility if you start small. br>11''x 50' (x2) should last me a long time; I tried vacuum sealing some marinades and there was no leak (as expected), and the bags appear to be sturdy. br>The price was also reasonable, so I am completely satisfied, earning 5 stars.
I've used these bags in conjunction with other brands on numerous occasions, and I've noticed that the seal on these bags is frequently and randomly broken. I was certain that my Seal- My old meal machine had finally given up the ghost, so I purchased a more powerful one. I'm using the duty Food Saver brand, and I'm still having problems with these bags losing their seal after sitting for a while (I've even let them sit for 10 minutes). I waited 15 minutes after sealing to make sure they stayed vacuum-sealed before putting them in the freezer, using double and triple seals on the bag. After a few weeks, I go to check my stock and find that they have lost their seal. They just aren't able to maintain their grip. The last time I pulled a bag with a missing seal, it was on a couple of ribeyes that were triple sealed on both ends and still failed! I believe they are simply too thick, as they are completely different from the Food Saver bags. Food Saver bags, by the way, have never let us down.
30 items have just been packaged. It worked great with 40 pounds of meat. For the price you pay, you get a lot of roles. I'm going to buy more. br>br>As an aside, we don't have time to go out and get fresh meat or wait for things to thaw. We put 1 pound of ground beef in a pouch and bag it. Then squish it flat in the pouch so it can thaw in a few minutes under water. br>In the case of chicken, we trim it before cooking and place it in the bag. For the most part, we buy large packs of meat from Sam's Club and cut the breasts in half thickness wise to make the sawing process quicker. To keep a clean kitchen while cooking with meat, I typically thaw under the sink and then tenderize the meat while the bag is still closed.
These bags simply will not close properly. My previous job with a different company was no problem for me. Only one side of these is textured, while the other is smooth. I have a hard time getting things to seal or vacuum seal. I'm not going to buy anything else for the rest of my life.
I have a good sealer, but a couple of these have leaked after a month or so in the freezer. The bags have a different texture than the ones I'm used to. When I put the bags in the freezer, I double-check the seal and date them. As a result, I am not claiming that they are good or bad. If new information becomes available, I will update this post. THE NEXT STEP. I'm not thrilled with the results; I believe the texture on one side prevents them from getting a good seal. The bags that came with the Food Saver never leaked, and when they were taken out of the freezer, the vacuum was still there. When I took a few of these bags out of the freezer after a month or so, I noticed that they had lost their vacuum. I'm ready to order more bags, but I'm going to try a different brand this time.
When I bought the Vacuum Pack bags, I did not make a mistake! br>We're on a tight budget and can't afford to pay $10 per box for less than a dozen bags, which I think is ridiculous. br>We used to love vacuum sealing things, but we didn't want to waste all that money, so I found this. br>We've used a lot of these and they seal just as well as the Seal a Meal bags, and look at how much you get! br>I took the time to roll out the product so that it would fit in my machine, and then I precut a bunch of them so that they would be ready to use! br>They can also be reused if they are cleaned properly; I have reused a lot of mine. br>I've had this for about 6 months and we haven't even used half of the first roll! br>So, I have to say that this is a fantastic product that is well worth the money. br>You get 100 feet for less than the cost of two boxes of Seal a Meal bags, so you really can't go wrong. period.
