It appears to have been made in Germany. I do not recommend purchasing the set. I'm not sure why there's such a big deal about it. The knives aren't any better (in fact, they're worse) than the rest of my collection.
I rarely use the dishwasher to clean these knives. Mine is free of rust.
I own two knives, each with their own sheath. A paring knife and a larger "chef" style knife are recommended. The sheaths are made of plastic and fit together with friction. I had never considered the knives being removed from their sheath. in their own right I'd feel very safe putting them in a backpack with camping gear. These are knives that I strongly recommend.

The knives are fantastic in and of themselves! They're razor-sharp and fit comfortably in my smallish hand; just hand-wash them. This isn't a major issue!.
Knives that are extremely durable. They appear to be well-made, and the rubberized handles make cutting and holding them a breeze. I can't think of anything I don't like about these knives!.
I needed a small knife that I could keep hidden and out of the way with a cover, but that also did the job well enough that I could use it for a variety of tasks. This concludes the discussion. They've both been extremely durable. (And that's saying a lot because we live in a dishwasher house with 5 people!).
In fact, it was fresh from the factory. The blade does not have a color coating. An added bonus is the stick. Jim.
I was looking for something similar to these knives, and these are it. They are something I use on a daily basis. The covers are crucial because if you don't take care when removing them from the drawer, they will cut you. I've never used a knife as sharp as this one. The set is a must-have in any kitchen.
I bought this because the reviews said they were very sharp, but the one I received was not at all sharp; in fact, it was very dull. I was expecting a sharp pair of knives, but this is not the case.
I would have needed stitches several times already if it hadn't been for the blade covers. These are far more substantial than the cheap paring knives found in most supermarkets. a lot bigger, twice as wide, and twice as long stronger.
Customer who has purchased from us previously. These are fantastic knives. Most of my kitchen tasks are completed with the orange one. Run them through the sharpener once every few weeks and they'll be as good as new. I purchased my first set from a local store nearly five years ago and continue to use it today.
