Questions & Answers

My Rada 7" paring knife has a slightly serrated edge, which none of the others appear to have. ?

The Rada Serrated Regular Paring Knife, model R142, is available. I didn't have them on my list before, but I will now. The overall dimensions are 6 3/4" x 6 3/4" x 6 3/4"

Is there a cardboard sleeve that comes with these knives?

I'm sorry, but I don't recall, but they're so sharp that they'd pierce the plastic,,,sorry, wish I could be of more assistance,,,I really believe they did,,just don't hold me to it,,the knives are worth it,,I have an old one that's still good,,it could be 35 years old. old, but I ordered two more,,,I apologize for not being able to assist you further,,,,love

How big is this thing?

The blade is 3 inches long and the overall length is 7 inches. The blade is a smidge smaller than the handle, which measures 1/2 inch in width. These paring knives are very nice. It is a plus that it is made in the United States. The only criticism I have is that the handles discolor in the dishwasher, necessitating hand washing. I hope this has been of assistance.

In the dishwasher, the handles appear to oxidize
4/5

RADA cutlery has always been a favorite of mine, and I've owned a number of knives over the years. There appears to be a shift in the situation. The handles seem to oxidize and leave a gray/black residue on my hands and dish towels, so I can't put them in the dishwasher. The handles are still dark and abrasive. I'm not sure if the problem is with the dishwasher soap or if it's something else. I'm pretty sure the knives I bought a few years ago didn't do this. I've also used it with both soft and hard water, and the results are the same. So I'm not sure if I'll buy these knives in the future; I despise having to hand-wash these.

I did purposefully dishwash them in order to darken the handles, which had previously been super shiny aluminum
5/5

Where do I begin? Last year, my mother gave me a few old knives from her kitchen drawer. I used to use them when I was younger. Deja Vu struck once more as I used them. They had a lot of power. I did as she said and took the knives with me. I looked them up and discovered they were RADA brand, with slightly darkened handles from years of dish washer use. br>br>I immediately sold all of my Roswell and Farber ware knives and spent about $60 on a Rada starter set. After that, I went out and bought a six-pack of steak knives, as well as a few other things. I did purposefully dishwash them in order to darken the handles, which had previously been super shiny aluminum. That is exactly what we were hoping for. br>br>Not a speck of rust in nearly 18 months, and they're still razor sharp! br>br>I also got two of the potato peelers, and those things are a dream to use! Every week, my son and I compete in peeling potatoes and carrots. He usually comes out on top. Regardless. br>br> I'm almost entirely reliant on these now. I still need to get the Cutco knives from time to time, but it's becoming increasingly rare. RADA knives are my favorite, and I buy them as gifts for weddings and other occasions. Every now and then, I supplement my own set with a two-pack or so of knives. )br>br>I'm never, ever going to buy another knife. If they aren't RADA, they should be avoided. They are absolutely fantastic. I'm not getting any more items, such as a wisk and pizza cutter, cutting boards, and so on.

IN THE KITCHEN, THIS IS MY FAVORITE KNIFE
5/5

I wish there was a way for me to give it a higher rating! I really like this knife because it gives me a lot of bang for my buck. Potatoes, carrots, and onions will be sliced as thin as butter. I ordered more of these from Rada because I want to keep them in stock and use them for years to come! KNIFE OF MY CHOICE! Thank you for creating such a great knife at such a low price!!.

It's just like a paring knife I used to have (and then misplaced) in Ohio Amish country
5/5

I'm not sure what happened to my original paring knife, but I rely on it constantly and would be lost without it. To find a replacement, I went to Amazon as usual. Not only did I find one that looks and feels exactly like my other one, but I also got two for just a little more than I paid for the original, and they're well packaged. surrounded by bubble wrap- The blades are also protected by a cover. They are very effective at cutting. So far, I'm pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others.

This is the third time in 30 years that it has happened! The only paring knife I'll ever need is this one
5/5

I purchased the first one from a local fund-raising organization. It was replaced in 2006 by a friend who sold it at a festival, and despite being nicked a little, it still works well. I do a lot of chopping and apple peeling. I've actually used a small amount of carrots and celery to chop. It's almost on par with my Rada Chef. Useful on a regular basis. The old one will be used for camping because it has a shipping blade sleeve. You should have a backup or be able to share it with a friend in case they require it. For my purposes, this is an excellent knife.

The knives are outstanding
4/5

Very strong and sharp. The knives are outstanding. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because the aluminum handles have a slightly sharp edge where they meet the blade, and the handles are not as smooth as expected. I've had a few of these knives for about 20 years, and after much sharpening, they finally wore down to the point where they needed to be replaced.

Simply purchase it
5/5

Amazing. Put an end to your search. Rada cutlery is available for purchase. These knives are by far the best value for money. You're going to love these. (Never put any of your sharp knives in the dishwasher; abrasive detergent will dull the razor-sharp edge and ruin the beautiful handle finish. ).

Unfortunate design flaw renders a blade of otherwise excellent quality useless
3/5

There is a long jut-out here. where the shank and blade meet I'll keep the other RADA knives because they don't have the same issue. However, because of this flaw, I am unable to use these knives. I gave them back in exchange for a two-star rating. RADA paring knives that are "heavy duty. " Instead, I strongly suggest that product for a minor price difference. With those, there isn't nearly as much of a difference between the handle and the blade. I slapped RADA with a heavy-handed reprimand. a 5-inch paring knife a 5-inch paring knife a 5-inch paring knife a rating of five stars The blades on RADA knives are razor-sharp and sharpen quickly. Regrettably, this item fails to meet expectations.
