Hello, the handles are slick but not at all slick. They have a rubbery feel to them. It has a textured feel to it, making it easy to grip.
Steel is not classed in the packaging.
It cuts beef and chicken very well, in my opinion. The knives have a razor-sharp edge. When I'm not using them, I always put them back into their sleeves.

I used to buy a bunch of these as gifts for my friends and for myself. All of the edges are serrated. They're fantastic knives that don't need to be sharpened and can cut through anything from steak to cucumbers! The serrated blade knives are similar to the older ones made in Switzerland, but the straight blades are not good at all. I recently purchased a set of 4 or 5 knives, and the blade says Swiss Design, not made in Switzerland. I'm disappointed, but I'll keep using and purchasing serrated edge knives because they're useful tools with vibrant colors that brighten up the kitchen.
I would strongly suggest it. This is an excellent set of knives for those who want thin, small knives with a sharp cut. They are used by my mother, and she enjoys them. She was willing to pay a higher price for them, which is unusual in our family. That's how you can tell they're fantastic. They're easy to hold and have a sharp cut. I wish the price was a little lower, but they are well worth the money. They're tough and last a long time. We've had these for over a year and haven't had any breakage or cuts, so give them a shot!.

These were perfect for what I needed them to do. I'm sure it was strange to wrap them in duct tape and a tarp at the same time, but oh well.
