Yes, they are dishwasher safe, despite the fact that it is not stated on the package or in the advertisement. However, I believe it causes the blades to become dull. Mine aren't quite as sharp as they once were, so I've been putting them in the dishwasher.
Stainless steel, I'm almost certain. However, if you keep a good edge on them, they're still great knives.

My wife brings apples to work every day and has been cutting them with a steak knife wrapped in a paper towel, but she forgets the knife on occasion. I knew there had to be a better way, so I went to Amazon and found these Kuhn Rikon knives. I like how small they are, which is ideal for precise cutting. I also like that there are three of them and that they're all different colors so she can keep the red one in her lunchbox at all times in case she forgets to bring another. Then she knows which one to use (yellow or blue) and which one is dirty. The sheaths are extremely tight, so she won't be stabbed while digging through her purse. lunchbox that is the right size The knives are razor-sharp and simple to use. Because of their narrowness, the sheaths may be difficult to clean, but she simply rinses off the blade when she's finished with it, so it's not a problem. Overall, we are pleased with our purchase of these knives and have found no flaws in them. For the following reasons, these knives are fantastic. br>br>They're razor-sharp and well-made, and they can be sharpened without using kit gloves like high-end knives. knife sets at the end of the line You can toss them in the dishwasher or leave them out on occasion without feeling guilty because, due to their low cost, you can toss them out and replace them in a year or two once they've outlived their usefulness. br>br>That's a small price to pay for a more expensive knife that you'll have to hand wash every time you use it. br>br>I know it sounds like a lazy man's philosophy, and it may be, but these are high-quality knives that should last you a year or two (or much longer if you properly care for them, and of course, depending on how often you use them), but can be treated guilt-free like any other utensils. Fruits, vegetables, and meats are all cut to perfection by them. The knives are light in weight, easy to handle, and have excellent cutting capabilities. These tiny pairing knives are one of my favorites. I despise peelers for peeling potatoes and other vegetables. Pairing knives are the tools I use. I had a hard time finding a knife that was both sharp and easy to hold without cramping up my hand. These knives have a razor-sharp edge. They've lasted me a long time and haven't become dull or chipped. I never wash or throw away my good knives. After each use, I wash and dry them immediately. Knives will last longer as a result of this. Great purchase that I would strongly recommend to anyone who has difficulty gripping objects.
The first thing I thought of when I saw this knife was how beautiful it was, and I still think so. The rainbow finish, however, is beginning to wear off after about a month of regular use. Now, I do clean it in the dishwasher, so that's probably a factor, but I have another one of these with a polka dot finish that took years to wear away. I also believe it has more to do with the case than the dishwasher because it's rubbing off in straight lines right where the case pinches in to hold onto the knife; however, the knife itself is fantastic and works just as well as the older one I have, and it seems to be holding its edge nicely. Overall, I'm pleased, but if the rainbow finish is important to you and you're not willing to care for the knife, I'd recommend passing.
The handle is light, which is to be expected for such a low-cost knife, but the blade is razor-sharp, and I've done everything I can to keep it that way. Because my kitchen is quite dark, I prefer the lighter colors. The lighter color allows my eye to follow the blade more easily, ensuring that I do not injure myself.
These knives must be handled with extreme caution because they are extremely sharp. If you don't pay attention, you'll cut your finger off! They are my favorite. I chop nuts and thick-skinned tomatoes. They slice meat, cut up any vegetables, and slice them all the way through. fruit! Hand wash only; do not put them in the dishwasher. I ordered a second set because I was so pleased with them. They cut through anything with ease and are great for everyday cooking and cutting cheese, among other things. br>I was on the lookout for this knife set after receiving a set of two from my niece for Christmas. I also placed an order for the 12-piece set. I have a lot of high-end chefs knives and the like, but I rarely use them in my everyday cooking.
