It is made of a synthetic polymer rather than plastic. These knives are excellent.
I've had mine for quite some time and have had no issues with it. Despite the fact that they are not marked stainless steel, they are kitchen aid products. I've never had a problem putting mine in the dishwasher. I'm not sure if they'll rust if they're left in for a few days.
They have stainless blades and synthetic handles, so there is no reason why they shouldn't be. Despite the fact that I never wash my knives.
Carving Set includes a 7-inch fork and an 8-inch slicer from KitchenAid. That's all I'm aware of at the moment. There are no dinner forks, as far as I can tell.

My palm grip encircles the entire handle, plus a little more. And no, I don't have particularly large hands - I'm a female with a height of 5'5 inches. I'd never owned steak knives that small before, so it never occurred to me that this might be a problem. Not only did I get a laugh out of it, but a friend came over and asked if I got these on wish or something.
Medium- These are by far my favorite steak knives, and I intend to replace all of my others with them. It's been about six months, and the knives are still as good as the day they were delivered. I run them through the dishwasher on a regular basis and have yet to notice any rust.
This knife set is outstanding. These are my favorite things! Larger than average steak knives that I use for everyday cutting, slicing, spreading, and other tasks. Can't believe the quality for the price, and the knives were flawless. Because these knives are cleaned in the dishwasher every day, they have plastic handles. They're better than the Wusthof I paid a lot of money for. These, in my opinion, are a good investment. I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat. Kitchen Aid did an excellent job.
These have been in my possession for over a year. Sharp as a razor! br>br> After multiple dishwasher cycles, there is no rust. The weight is very solid. br>br>The handles are a little small; I'd like them to be about 1/2" longer. This isn't a deal breaker in my opinion. br>br>With the knife edges, you could perform surgery! br>br>Strongly suggested. br>br> It's well worth the money.
These knives are fantastic - I'm a big fan of them. They have a nice balance in your hand, are sharp, and clean up easily in the dishwasher. br>I would strongly advise you to use them. br>br>Bought these to replace an old favorite set that had outlived its usefulness; they are far superior to my previous ones, and I only wish I had purchased them sooner.
They're razor-sharp and do everything they're supposed to do. It is a breeze to cut with them. I have had no problems washing them by hand and then putting them in the dishwasher. br>br>I used to have a very expensive set of steak knives that didn't work nearly as well as these. They were taken out and replaced.
They're already starting to show signs of rust. I was disappointed because I enjoy the sharpness and feel of them.
