I've only gotten chunky ice so far, not shaved ice. I'm not sure if the problem is with the blades or with the machine. Because there is no manual for this machine, I'm waiting for a response from the company.
Our family enjoys this ice shaving/snow cone machine because it performs better than expected and produces powder-free ice shavings. y shaved ice, which is even better than what you can get at some shaved ice stands. However, the machine's fit and finish is poor, and I doubt it will last more than a year or two. The metal is of thin gauge, and the welds are riddled with large gaps and rough spots. br>br>It is undeniably a low-cost Chinese knockoff of a better machine (most likely a Paragon machine), and it shows. However, if you don't mind the sub-par quality, I would recommend this machine if you are looking for a low-cost ice-shaving machine with a questionable lifespan and are only looking at its initial ice-shaving performance. It's probably a good deal at $130, but you'll get exactly what you pay for.
We'd read enough reviews to know that a number of ice makers have a finite lifespan. As a result, we made the decision to spend a bit more. We were not disappointed with this model, as it lasted all day at a large party featuring the mint julep and the Oaks lily. When it arrived on our doorstep, however, we were taken aback by the size of the box. It could be large enough to make storage at your home difficult.
It's all about the parties. It's a great machine for the money; it grinds any type of ice with ease, and we shaved about 40 pounds of ice in minutes. It does exactly what it says it will. The machine is well-built and simple to operate, and it holds its own against more expensive commercial machines. There are a few flaws (cons), but overall, this is a fantastic snowcone maker. Here are the flaws of this machine: I wish the bowl for catching the shaved ice was larger. At the very least, it must be capable of holding a fully loaded hopper. Because the bowl's capacity is less than the hopper's, you must either put less ice in the hopper or stop grinding and empty the shaved ice into a different container. Another drawback is the small size of the push flap that compacts the ice onto the blades. As a result, small pieces of ice are formed, which can then pass through the "flap. " Small pieces of ice fall out when the handle/flap is retracted. It does make a tad bit of a shambles. It can make a small water mess due to the small bowl and the small flap on the handle. So either use a towel under the machine or do it outside where water will not be an issue. However, for the price, it grinds a lot of ice in a short amount of time and the ice is nice and fluffy. We used store-bought ice as well as ice from our refrigerator. It didn't matter; it worked perfectly and produced excellent snow cone ice, as well as being suitable for "adult" beverages. With the exception of a minor water spill, this machine is up to the task of hosting a party. It never struggled, and it never got too hot. nothing. Oh, and there's a manly "rumble" coming from the machine. So, if you're looking for a quiet machine, look elsewhere. It's designed to shave ice quickly and effectively. The option to grind the ice into an acrylic box (like commercial machines) would be the only thing that would make this a better purchase. The average price of a commercial machine is around $400. It cost less than $200 to do this. The ice yield is the same, but it's a little messier, and we have to deal with a small bowl to catch the shaved ice, which is why I classify it as semi-commercial. It grinds ice with the speed and power of a commercial machine at a fraction of the cost, in exchange for some messy water situations and a small bowl in comparison to the hopper capacity. I hope you find this information useful. Use ice straight from the freezer for the best results. Snow/shaved ice made from wet, bagged ice is "wetter. ".
I shave ice on a regular basis and needed a product that was more durable than the plastic snow cone makers. This is fantastic! It's heavy and large, but instead of using ice cubes, I go out and buy bags of ice (which is less expensive). Pour three cups of ice into the machine, turn it on, and push the button, and it shaved this in less than a minute! I got a big bowl of ice that looks like snow (you could have a snowball fight), which I like. br>On the down side, ice gets stuck in the out spout and you have to clean it out several times, as well as in the hopper, so cleaning up takes longer than making the ice. and expect to use about 7 paper towels. Overall, I am very happy with this product and would recommend it.
It has the appearance and feel of something that will last for many years. With remarkable ease, shreds pounds of hard ice. The motor is extremely powerful. br>I am the hero of my children. Makes the best snow cones I've ever had. as well as, uh, By the way, the adult margaritas are fantastic! I couldn't be more pleased with this product; it arrived exactly when they said it would.
Pros: a strong motor and razor-sharp blades
Cons: The ice inlet is cheaply made and appears to be miss formed, despite the fact that the ramming plate and handle are both round. It's extremely difficult to use; I have to push and push to get the ice compression handle to fit each time. To make it fully usable, I'll need to modify the inlet or handle.
far too fine, almost powdery.
