It's on the verge of being closed. It's only a matter of unscrewing it. Simple to work with.
To open it, you must unscrew it. That way, it'll stay closed and won't accidentally open.
My ice pick has been in my possession for at least two years. The pick and its wooden handle have never been separated. However, you can try securing it with super glue and see if it occurs again. If you can still use it "as is," go ahead and do so.
Measuring is a little challenging for me. However, the closest I can get is about 3/4" all the way around the metal shaft. The ice pick has a lot of weight to it.

My old one (of a different brand) was rusting and leaving rust in ice; I received this one yesterday and have already used it; it works great and has no rust. I like the screw-on pick protector, and it fits together easily. Before putting the pick into the safety holder, I'll probably let it dry completely so the wood doesn't swell and become difficult to fit together.
It's nearly impossible to talk about this product without sounding like a dirty joke, so please get your mind out of the gutter and settle in for my honest and objective assessment. br>br>I've ordered other Amazon ice picks in the past, but I was disappointed by their overall size. 6" wasn't long enough for me, and the other model I bought was too thin to break tougher ice. br>br>Enter this 9" marvel. This one's color appeals to me the most. The dark brown wood, combined with the metal trim, creates a truly elegant look. When it comes to sheathing an ice pick, I prefer the screw method over the insertion method. Furthermore, the increased length makes breaking up larger pieces of ice much easier by reducing the number of stabbings required. Having said that, if you're looking for something heavy-duty that can really penetrate and smash up your ice, this is the one to get.
I like that I can put the cover back on it to keep myself from stabbing myself while reaching for my crafting supplies. It can be used to bind books, pierce holes in clay, and a variety of other crafts. The money was well spent.
This ice pick is of extremely high quality. The pick's steel, as well as the wood casing, have left an indelible impression on me. I like that the cap is made of the same high-quality wood and screws on so that little hands aren't harmed, and that it's small enough to fit in my utensil drawer without taking up too much space. I would strongly advise you to include this in your kitchen!.
I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as the photos make it appear, but it's even nicer in person. The construction quality is exceptional. It appears to be something you'd find in a high-end store. For around $50 at a high-end homegoods store. The wood and metal work are both exquisite, and the cover slides on with ease. It's also worth noting that this device is functional. Last night, I went to town on a large block of frozen ice and can attest that it works well and is long lasting.
I'm a wedding bartender, and this is a fantastic product. We use bagged ice because it's difficult to break every chunk by hand.
This is a nice ice pick that appears to be well-made and durable. I wasn't sure how long the pick would last when I bought it, so here are a few photos.
