I love ice so much that in addition to the ice in my regular freezer, I have a portable ice machine. I needed something sturdy, functional, and attractive to keep nearby. If I had one suggestion, I would either put metal in the handles so that they can attach to a magnet strip, or have a hole through the handle with leather straps so that you can hang them up near where you need them. They were works of art that functioned well.
The handle finish on the three prong is HORRIBLE. What's my take on it? Separately, you can buy a single pick. Also, find a three-prong that is better. The quality is polar opposite, and the brand is not the same.
I've never made a better choice - The double pick is the most versatile piece of the set. It's the best of the best.
One of the picks broke the first time it was used. The individual picks don't appear to be Loctite in, but they didn't snap off. One of them now slides in and out and is smaller than the other two, making it less effective; I will not use this brand again.
They perform admirably. Feel solid. However, the color of the wood stain does not match. Although they are both reddish in color, they are clearly not the same stain.
Icepicks are still in great condition after two months of use. I wish the ice chipper's iron ran all the way up into the handle, like the ice pick (perhaps it would have become too heavy?). ) but I haven't had any problems with the handle loosening or anything like that up until now. I only wish I had something to cover the pointy parts of the picks when I put them back in the drawer, but I made do with a cork. So far, I've been a satisfied customer;.
I wish they were a little bigger for my hands, but my wife enjoys them. The Hammer section of the image is too light to be of any use, but it does make a good grip.
