I like that if you need to take it out of the freezer, you can do so without fear of tripping and injuring yourself or someone else because it can be closed. I have five grandchildren, ranging in age from two to six years old. Kids, especially those under the age of ten, always seem to find things you don't want them to. I have a French door refrigerator and I always keep my ice pick in the freezer; the kids have never noticed it because they don't realize it's something they aren't supposed to touch; I'm not sure how small children seem to know what they aren't supposed to be touching, but they always seem to know and do exactly what they aren't supposed to be doing; but now, they don't touch it because it's just another ink pen or something else of no consequence to them;.

When you order, it's not mentioned in any of the product descriptions, but it's stated on the bar code on the outside of the package when it's delivered as "made in China. " If you care about that, make sure you know before you place your order. (I'm going to return mine. ) The metal band that runs through the middle of the wooden case is also tarnished - Since these were supposed to be brand new, I'm not sure how that happened. They appear to be sturdy, and I'd like to keep them, but I'm not pleased with the condition in which they arrived, nor with the country of origin.

I've been using my ice picks for a few months now and I'm really enjoying them. Before putting the pick back in the sheath, I always make sure it is completely dry. I can't think of anything negative to say about them; however, one thing I would change is the length of the metal pick. When I use it to break up the ice in our freezer's ice bin, I've noticed that my finger frequently hits the ice, which causes pain. As a result, I can only hold it between my thumb and forefinger. Because you can't jab it as hard as you need to, this isn't always an effective way to break up the ice!.

This is an excellent icepick set. After a few months with the selections, I'm adding to this review. They're just as good now as they were before. After chopping, all I have to do is wipe them clean, and they're good to go. I don't put them in the dishwasher because I prefer to carefully handwash them - But, aside from that, one of them is going to live on top of my microwave, and I use/abuse both of them. The picks come in handy and then some because I have an automatic icemaker whose ice will merge into one giant clump if left out for even one day. I highly recommend them; they're a great value, and the weight of the set makes it feel much more expensive than it is.

We purchased these, and one of them lacked a slit in the collar, making it impossible to open. We came back for some non-alcoholic beverages. One that is faulty. However, the situation remained unchanged. Apparently, one of the picks has a collar that hasn't been slipped, making it impossible to open. It's a shame, because it appears to be in excellent condition otherwise.

Using them to make additional holes in K-cups that aren't the right size. I used them to punch a new hole in my leather watchband as well. br>br>They're also very easy to store. Craftsmanship of the highest caliber. Although the point isn't needle sharp (and isn't supposed to be), it's sharp enough to get the job done. br>br>Easy to work with. Handling is simple and straightforward. And it's very easy to keep. It's also attractive. br>br>I absolutely adore this product, and the price is unbeatable.

I like that these have a cover to prevent accidental sticks/holes in you or other items in the drawer where they are stored. I gave one to our adult child because there were two per pack. One was all I required. They appear to be durable, and the ice pick is thick enough to be durable. It served my purpose well, but the screw-in feature is my favorite. most of the time on the cover.
