Generally, steel knives can last for years as long as they aren't cut into metal or other hard objects. After washing, air dry or wipe the blade with a cloth after drying, then it can last for more than a decade.

It would be interesting to see the results of a cheap one like this. My knife has the worst fit and finish that I have ever seen. A $5 knife from a Kiwi brand has a Despite the fact that the handles aren't attached flush with the tang, a large gap exists between the handle scales and the knife's tang. The heel of one handle scale protrudes above the tang spine, while the other is attached at an angle so that the heel of one scale sits below the spine of the other scale near the blade, then extends above the spine of the other scale. There is a thin section of *2mm along the spine of the knife. This is pretty thin for a caidao, and thin knives tend to cut I still found that this knife didn't slice as well as almost every other knife in my collection, even after it was sharpened on a whetstone. In addition to being sharp and easy to cut, how thin the knife is behind the edge affects how easy it is to cut. I believe it might not be thin enough. I recommend you avoid this knife and pick up a Shibazi, Dexter, Mercer, Deng, etc. In my opinion, these knives are better. You can also ask for a recommendation at an Asian grocery if you have one in your area, and the staff will tell you what they recommend. The knife will likely be as cheap as this one, but it will probably be.
It is something I have used a couple times. I'm impressed by how sharp and decently designed Blade is. This is a little different in terms of style/design, but you'll get used to it over time. Unfortunately, the handle is damaged and won't work due to its poor fit and finish. There is a lip of metal at the tip of the knife that creates friction and is sharp enough to be extremely irritating because the handle material is rough and does not go all the way up the spine of the knife. As long as you wear work gloves, it should be fine.
Generally, it's an excellent deal. It was sharpened nicely, and it was in good condition when it arrived. It's lighter than I expected, so there is only one downside to having to put in a bit more effort when cutting through thick pieces of meat, thick veggies (like cabbage), or I am quite satisfied with it apart from that.
It takes a little getting used to using a cleaver for vegetables and other things, but the blade stays sharp and holds up well to steel.
The weight and size are excellent, and the blades are very good.
The size and handling of the device.
While I relish the craftsmanship and design of this butcher knife, I do not approve of the quality. The only time I have used this is when I cut frozen chicken (after only a few hours in the freezer), the knife broke and had multiple fragments on the board. I would recommend getting a thicker knife or a higher quality brand/product. You can also only use it for fresh meat and vegetables if you intend to buy it.
