My first thing I do when I bring a knife out of the box is see if I can shave with it, and I can certainly do that. An ideal addition to any collection due to its light weight and versatility. In many Japanese sets, you have to add knives from different manufacturers to make a complete It is true in the case of Shun and Sasaki, but there is a reason for that. There are higher ratings on knives from another manufacturer if you browse the ratings. The one you're looking for is different. A wonderful product, I am also a fan of Saskuki Masters and Artisan. My only larger knives are my six-inch professional chef knives from the Master's series. If you have all the items together, you will end up paying 1,000, but no worries, the whole set only cost 3,000. This is a savings of 2,000.
Edit the following My love for this knife hasn't diminished even after a couple of years. The handle is still perfectly formed Despite some minor problems, I think this is my favorite knife. Knife is sharp and weighty, but the quality of the handle doesn't do it justice. It feels like a cheap wooden handle from a dollar store knife. Shun classic pro is far superior.
Sharpened and honed them out of the box after I received them, because they didn't come as sharp as I would like. I would appreciate it if you could use a high-quality camera Among the best sharpeners on the market, this is a high quality knife.
The handle is rather cheap looking, but if you apply tung oil to it you will improve its waterproofing and length There have been no problems with the knife, although I would have preferred it to be ready to use right from the box.
Purchasing this second Shun knife (different model earlier) marks my second purchase from Shun. This knife is well made, very sharp, easy to hold, and easy to chop with. The following is my recommendation.
It is one of the best knives I've ever owned. I've bought some lower-quality kitchen knives that have not held up well. I am impressed with the quality of the blade and the durability of the handle.
For the price range this shun is OK, but spend a little more money for the classic or premier. I can tell that it is sharp, but not as sharp as the classic or premier, and it is A $50 item, not a $100 one.
A nice construction, good stuff, and an edge of great quality.
A Shun will never let you down. Why not invest in the best? My passion for cooking is sparked by this knife.
