Questions & Answers

Are these knives manufactured in a specific place?

If you see a knife with the statement "Made in Japan with Japanese VG10 Steel", and the price is under $100, keep looking until it is The knives in this category are in general well-made and should be more than adequate for any amateur chef, unless you're a collector or a professional My Japanese hand forged tools are reserved for very specific uses and occasions when I desire to abuse them. I have a number of these that work just fine. The Japanese companies are a little slick to name their company after a Japanese saying, but maybe that's a little similar to what the Japanese did in the 80s by giving their products names that sounded totally western.

What does Made in China mean?

My knowledge of the matter is limited. There is no indication of the country of origin on the paperwork that came with the knife. The article only speaks about Japanese steel imported from VG companies. It is possible that the metal component is manufactured in China and the finishing is carried out The email address they use for customer service is You can reach us at com.

Do you know if this knife has full tang?

There are only two varieties of my Nakiri full tang and mini I also thought this was very nicely done.

Can you clear up my confusion - is the blade 6" or 7" ?

A total of 12 inches are included on the knife. There is a 7" cutting portion on the knife.

As well as packing the package in its own shipping bag, Amazon should always put yours in one
5/5

In addition to the third kyoku knife I own, I am very satisfied with it. Though, I am afraid that Amazon did not double bag it in its own company bags when it delivered it today. In this case, the box was crumpled at all four corners and the purchase card was creased too. As elegant as your knives are, the packaging of them comes in an equally exquisite box, and taking out the knife to begin cooking is a ritual in and of itself. Tea ceremony I practice on a daily basis. Knives were of course flawless, and carrots went through them with no problems. As a young man I lived in Japan and tried to follow some of the old traditions. I just wish you could replace the box and your business card. I know it sounds crazy but I lived in Japan as a young man. I wanted to thank you for an excellent.

I like your choppers
5/5

Since I am neither a cook nor an expert on knives, here are some of my observations. My friend and I have never been fans of traditional knife handles and tangs such as those found on JAHenkle knives and the like. It is similar to our current knives, which are the Calphalon Katana series, and the tapered tang is one of our favorite design features. We were able to make the transition smoothly. Since we didn't have the nakiri knife from the set, we thought of trying something similar, but a little bit

I can't seem to get the Damascus pattern to stand out as much as I did in the pictures, but that's just me This is still a gorgeous sight! Then there was the dang sharpness as well. Despite the fact that I did not sharpen our knives for the last eight years, this comparison is not entirely fair. It got the job done. I used it on tomatoes and was able to thinly slice them as thinly as my skill would allow (not much) and was incredibly There is no discernible profile of the edge. I think it is thinner than the Katana series (22°, This is probably between 18 and 25 years old This is just a guess, but it should be around 20°. My overall opinion is that I like the look, the handle, and the functionality of the watch I like the edge of the tang. It's a great knife to have in our collection, and we will never regret getting it.

Knife for cutting greens, Nakiri b*ch* ()
4/5

The craftsmanship and material used to make this Nakiri b*ch* knife are very good. In an understated way, the Damascus pattern is beautiful. My collection of this slicer is complete now, thanks to the sharpness of the blade that gets through softer fruits and vegetables without crushing or damaging the product.

It has a very fine quality, is extremely sharp, smooth and easy to hold, and slices perfectly
5/5

In a nutshell, The knife in this picture is what I was looking for when I wanted a smaller knife for vegetetables or smaller meats, so I found this one, where I love the Japanese steel and it is so striking in style as well. Overall I am quite pleased with the knife. The blade is flawless, very sharp and just glides through whatever I place in front of it. A smooth, comfortable handle, as well as a perfect weight for cutting, make this knife a real pleasure to use. It is made from a single piece of metal, as is its I have a hard time not wanting to slide the blade back and forth, while this one just glides straight down whatever I am As it is really difficult to explain how nice these are with just pictures, I decided to make a video to illustrate. Besides its slimness, the knife also fits neatly into a wood block for storage, or I can simply just slide my cutting board over it. I am very satisfied with this purchase, as it is one of the most beautiful blades I have come across, that has worked perfectly.

Take heed, this is a very sharp knife
5/5

There is something unique about the flattened tip. There are layered patterns on the blade, and the handle feels comfortable in the hand. No need to sharpen it out of the box because it is really sharp. This one comes with an extra sleeve, so that's good. It cuts no matter what you are cutting without pushing it hard. The bottom of the handle is covered with thick metal, so you can use it to smash garlic and shelled foods like.

Craftsmanship of the highest order
5/5

In a nutshell, I was a little surprised at the weight of the knife when I first received it since several of my other butcher knives are lighter in weight. But the handle is unique in that it is ergonomically comfortable and a perfect fit in my hand. It cuts through meat like it's nothing at all, and I use it for chopping vegetables and fruits as well. Whenever it slices a banana, it slices without crushing the banana due to its ability to slice through the peel like nothing else. In the case of oranges, it cuts through the peel without needing to saw it through. It slices raw carrots with easy without sending them flying across the counter, since they are dense and hard. Whether I slice raw or cooked meat, it cuts through almost as easily as if I were slicing through a solid block It is a sharp knife, and the design on the blade just makes it even cooler. The knife is very sharp and I always make sure I have the sheath on, as it will cut you if you do not have one.

The finish is razor sharp, the construction is solid and the weight is nice and heavy
5/5

I got this a couple of There are no flaws in its design, and it has a good feel and a solid build. It is a great knife because it has a heavy built which makes me slow down using it when a knife is this sharp. Besides being beautiful, it is also functional. Although it is made in China, its price is very competitive because it is made there. It is recommended that you use some mineral oil on the side of the blade to help with the slide through in mushrooms since the blade is thicker and mushrooms can resist going However, it's an excellent value for money.
