Questions & Answers

In the event that it becomes dull with time or overuse, how do you sharpen it?

Wetstones are my preferred method of sharpening it. The stone I use is the King KDS 1000/6000. It's a The blades have been resharpen 1000 times and polished 6000 times. When the blade is too dull, you can start with a 400 grit and then jump to 1000 grit

What are the benefits of a non-stick coating on the knife? Can this be removed during use or is it a permanent product?

It is created with a sanding technique so that the blade is coated physically to prevent food from sticking to it. Unlike chemical coatings, since it is a physical layer instead of a chemical layer, it is much safer to use - there is no reaction when the chemical material wears off.

What are the chances of getting that knife ?

Best knife I have ever used
5/5

Shun is no match. Removing sticker residue in five simple steps. Firstly, I tend to give more criticism than compliments, as I want the things I own to do their job perfectly, no matter how expensive they might be. For example, I own a Shun vegetable cleaver, for which some flaws make me quite annoyed. Because it is made from steel, Shun is brittle and difficult to use for everyday purposes. My experience with the Shun knife I spent $200 on made me decide that I should give this knife a Do you want to know something? Before buying this knife, I was concerned about how sharp it would be compared to Shun knives since many people believe that Shun and other top brands have the sharpest knives. Before purchasing this knife, I was worried about whether the knife would be as sharp as Shun knives. As it turned out, I was completely The knife is very sharp out of the box and it can cut printing paper into thin and delicate lines as I hold it in the air. find the knife to be very sharp out of the box, just like my Shun. One more thing I want to share with you guys is that HRC hardness can instantly raise the price of a knife. However, it is not something you In my mind, I thought steel with a harder surface would keep its sharpness for I have used my Shun blade carefully and normally for a week, and within that week, it developed a nick in the blade. Steel is brittle to a greater extent as its hardness increases. In other words, you're not buying a knife to carve your name on the glass, but rather to cut vegetables. blade of this knife is very sharp and its steel is perfect for everyday use as well as being Since I no longer need to worry about breaking the edge I can smash garlic with ease like a Chinese master chef without having to worry that I will harm I've been making several strokes with the whetstone and the blade is as sharp as new. Chinese vegetable cleavers made in the west or Japan are typically on the compact side, but this knife is on the large side. Then I realized this is what professional chefs prefer, and I started to like it. I love the ease with which I can process a lot of vegetables in a quick and efficient manner, and the ease with which I can move a multitude of processed vegetables to a plate at once. There is a great balance here. It feels nice, and the handle is solid. It's hard to ask for something There's no doubt that the brand is well-known throughout China and that its knives are of high quality. The sticker does cause some complaints in most reviews, but don't let that discourage you from buying this knife. To remove it, wipe it off with some pressure, using organic alcohol prep pads or paper towels with cleaning grade alcohol. After the residue has been removed, it will completely disappear. It is not possible to use the GooGone liquid. I'm glad to be of service to you.

My interest in cooking Chinese dishes led me to discover that my expensive German knives did not fit Chinese culinary practices
5/5

I soon learned that this knife is excellent at a great price. I also bought a traditional Chinese cleaver along with the twenty new food items I added to my kitchen. Unlike a Western cleaver, this knife functions as a traditional chef's knife in a European kitchen, not as a tool used for processing meat and bone in the Western tradition. Meat is a good source of protein. If your skills allow you to use a large knife in the kitchen, this is the rule of thumb. more powerful the knife, the faster and easier the work will be. My inexperience with traditional Chinese cutlery prompted me to contact Shi Ba Zi to find out more about their knives. My request for a 9" clever was immediately responded to and I received an excellent recommendation. I truly appreciate the work you have done here Knife with a balanced weight and a sharp edge. With this cleaver, you can easily slice a tomato, which is the type of functionality you cannot do with a chef's knife. This cleaver is also good for chopping and julienne cuts. My satisfaction was greatly heightened when I learned that a Chinese cleaver made it easy for you to do all of these things. With an excellent, solid handle and a full tang, the Shi Ba Zi is not just sharp, it is also well balanced, and it is very well made. There is one word of caution to bear in mind. A large knife such as this is not for someone who is not able to handle an appropriate 10" or 12" chef's knife with ease. You might begin with a smaller cleaver instead. It is a pleasure to hear Shi Ba Zi make a My other purchase was a 5" cleaver thinking that I could use it to make more finely finished cuts or for cutting smaller objects. There was a mistake in my thinking. All of it will be done by the big cleaver. In case you are not familiar with high-end German cutlery, you won't be able to compensate for this cost with a small paring knife. My recommendation for this particular knife and this particular company is that it is a tremendous deal. In terms of value for money, this knife is excellent. It is extremely well made and the functionality of this knife is excellent anyone who appreciates fine cutlery will appreciate it. I am happy to have it as any cook would be,.

It has been a great deal and so useful so far

The picture is beautifully sharp and well-framed These boxes are made right out of cardboard (which is recyclable). After removing the stickers from the handle, I covered it with three coats of Birchwood-based finish The Casey Tru Oil Company. This product has been used on all the handles of my untreated wooden knives. To preserve a bit of texture, I did not sand prior to application, but used bronze wool on the first two coats of paint. 1) I add these to my wood preservation plan because I have 30 pieces of wood Original treatment still on the knives that are more than a year old. If the manufacturer provided a similar treatment, even if it cost a few more dollars, I would appreciate it. In addition, provide a way for users to connect It is capped. The rat is out of control as it is End of tail and tang of tail- A large amount of grain is It would not be merely aesthetic improvements but rather performance improvements as well. Several of the blades shown in the photo had been used to chop vegetables for a curry, chop a head of cabbage, butcher a chicken, and separate ribs from a rack of ribs. My only method of cutting is joints and cartilage, not bones (excluding the soft ribcage of chickens). Symptoms of damage are not present. Clearly, there is a temper tantrum going on I have yet to steel/polish the edge, and I will wait and see how long it will take (I have only had it for The non-profit sector as it relates to the non-profit sector Describe the stick qualities of the stick. A brushed finish can be found on this item. The "polished" cai dao I had previously did not distinguish itself from my current I'll tell you. It has a weight of 13 ounces. Is it useful to have a 300g+ bag? I would say yes, but I have large hands (10 forefeet across) and have used cai daos for my entire life. Whether you'll feel comfortable with it will depend on your experience, hand size, and your comfort with blades of a larger size.
