Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use these in a sous vide situation?

Yes, these can be used for sous vide cooking because they can withstand temperatures of up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Is it true that there was only one lid for the egg bites when I received my order? I noticed there are two lids in the picture; how many was I supposed to get?

I purchased two lids as well as two egg bite molds, one for each.

I see that the mold can be washed in the dishwasher. Is it the same with the lid?

Hello, yes, the silicone egg bites mold, lid, and sling lifter are all dishwasher safe. Other brands use plastic lids, but Hatrigo uses silicone, which is much more resistant to heat and extreme temperatures.

How tall is the sling as a whole?

The sling is 7" long when unhooked at the top. The sling is 6" long when closed. These are the dimensions from the countertop to the sling top, including the base foundation on which the egg mold will be placed. Because the sling is pliable, it could be shortened to less than 6 inches. I hope this has been of assistance.

I can't seem to stop myself from making egg bites
5/5

Is it really necessary to add a fifth? To persuade you that this egg bite mold is the best thing you'll ever buy for your Instant Pot/Pressure Cooker, we've given it a five-star rating. So, there you have it. br>I was looking for a Starbucks sous vide egg bites copycat recipe and was almost convinced that I needed a sous vide stick when I came across a recipe that used an IP/PC and an egg bite mold. Who knew there were so many options when it came to molds? I looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked and looked until I couldn't wait for the package to arrive--actually, I couldn't wait for it to arrive-- I postponed the delivery in order to combine it with another purchase. I opened the package as soon as I saw it. Some people had complained about the odor, according to what I'd read. It did have an odor when I opened it, but I put all of the parts in hot soapy water and that removed 90% of the odor. To be honest, I wasn't bothered by the lingering odor. I was also planning on making egg bites! I poured three drops of olive oil into each cup and lightly coated the insides. After pouring in the egg mixture, I set the mold on the trivet that came with it. Let me just take a moment to point out that the trivet that comes with the two egg molds might be the best part of the entire purchase! My pressure cooker came with a metal trivet, according to the owner's manual, but I'm not sure where it is. My computer fits perfectly on this trivet. The handles are fantastic. They're attached at the top in a great way. I can't say enough good things about the trivet, which is like getting two molds in one! When it comes to the molds, I wish I had placed the mold on the trivet before filling it. Because it's silicone, it's a little flimsy, but I discovered that firmly grasping both sides and pulling out just a little bit gave the mold some support as I moved it to the trivet. On top of the mold, the silicone lid was a perfect fit. I'm glad I chose a mold with a silicone lid after reading so many recipes that required aluminum foil to cover the molds. I'd hate to see all that aluminum foil go to waste. When placing the molds in the pressure cooker, the trivet is sufficient support. Following the recipe I chose, the egg bites came out perfectly. br>And now it's time to put our skills to the ultimate test, eh? What are the chances that these egg bites will come out of the mold well? To be clear, I despise sticky foods. I'd rather not think about how many pans I've ruined in frustration while attempting to remove stuck-on food. sharp implements used on food These egg bites, on the other hand, were a breeze to get rid of! I have a lot of silicone backing pieces, and only a few of them are worth trusting without a little grease. For quick-release egg bites, a few drops of olive oil is a reasonable price. I'm thinking about making some without any grease in the future. It wouldn't bother me in the least. br>I'm already planning on purchasing a set for my daughter, who already owns an official Instant Pot. I'm also interested in seeing what else I can make with these molds, such as mini cheesecakes! I'm sure I'll use this kitchen accessory a lot.

A truly outstanding product that compels me to deviate from my usual practices
5/5

When it comes to Amazon reviews, I have a few personal guidelines, one of which is to "wait until you've used the product for a while before writing a review. " Because of my positive experience with this product, I am breaking that rule right now, despite the fact that I have only used it twice in the last four days. This item has my full confidence. br>br>So, here's what I've come up with: Hard-boiled egg whites are a personal favorite of mine. Typically, I'll purchase a bag of pre-packaged snacks. Remove and toss the yolk from cooked and peeled hard boiled eggs, then eat the white with a pinch of salt, salsa, or hummus. It's all good. My issue is one of cost and waste; I'm throwing away the yolks, so it's a waste of money; the plastic bag that the eggs come in ends up in the landfill, and at around 42 cents per egg, it's a bit pricey (especially since I'm throwing away the yolks). As a result, I set out in search of a solution, which I discovered in this. br>br>For starters, it's less expensive; if you do the math (as I did), using this item in conjunction with supermarket liquid egg whites will save you money. When using this, the egg-equivalent cost is about 25% less. Second, there has been a significant reduction in the amount of waste generated. I'm not wasting any yolks, I'm not adding to the landfill with more plastic bags, and the egg white carton is recycled. Finally, it's much quicker and easier than hard boiling and peeling the eggs myself. I can make the equivalent of 28 ready-to-eat meals in a matter of minutes. In less than half an hour, you can consume hard boiled egg whites. br>br>How does this product perform after all of this? I wouldn't be praising it as much if it weren't excellent. )br>br>If you look at the other reviews on this site, you'll notice two major issues: a "plasticky" or "chemical" smell/taste in their eggs, and/or difficulty in removing the cooked food from the product. I'm here to tell you that these issues are% The photo I'm including with this review shows a batch of egg whites that had just been cooked and removed from the tray seconds before the photo was taken. br>br>Here's how to use this product the RIGHT WAY. br>br>When it arrives at your house, separate the pieces and run it through your dishwasher on the regular cycle with detergent, just like any other plate or dish you have; it won't harm it, and it's good to start with a clean starting point. br>br>Find a pot with a slightly larger diameter than this item; in my case, I used a small stock pot with a diameter of about an inch or so larger. Fill the bottom with about two inches of water, place it on the stove, and heat it up. br>br>While the water heats up, make sure each tray's cavities are dry, then spray each cavity with cooking oil. Regular vegetable oil, such as Pam, was used. Fill each cavity with egg whites (or eggs, or whatever you're doing) and place the trays on a solid flat surface. Four ounces (half a cup) per cavity provides plenty of room for expansion if necessary. br>br>Place the silicone covers on the trays, ensuring that the edges are securely fastened. br>br>Place the two covered trays on top of the carrier and clasp the top. br>br>Your water should be steaming, if not boiling, at this point. Reduce the heat to a medium setting. then lower the carrier with trays into the pot on a low setting. Cover the pot with a lid. Set a 20-minute timer. br>br> Set a timer for 25 minutes. Check out the most recent Rick and Morty episode. Please, Morty, return. br>br>Turn off the heat, remove the pot's cover, and set aside for a few minutes to cool. Grab the carrier's handle and lift it out of the pot as soon as it's safe to do so. Separate the two trays and place it on your kitchen counter. Each tray's tops should be removed. br>br>Place an upside-down plate on each tray, grasp both the plate and the tray's edge, and flip over. Give each cavity a tap or two until everything releases. Carry on with the second tray in the same manner. br>br>Repeat with the silicone bits in the dishwasher. br>br>THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT. br>br>This is an excellent product, and I only wish I had discovered it months ago.

It Passes the Pinch Test and Performs Exceptionally Well
5/5

These molds worked flawlessly in my 8-quart Ninja Foodi. I was happy to see that all of the pieces passed the pinch test (didn't turn white when pinched) and had no odor. It was also simple to keep them clean.

Other brands pale in comparison! These are better than other brands for the following reasons: 1) Silicone is used for the lids
5/5

They can be used to cover the molds in the IP while they are being cooked. The rest of the lids are made of plastic rather than silicone. 2) The colors of the two molds are different. Ingredients can be color-coded using this method. 3) A silicone trivet with handles is a good investment. added. When lifting hot foods from the IP, the handles are unquestionably a safety feature. Hatrigo brand egg bite molds stand out from the competition because of these three features. They're also simple and enjoyable to work with.

Egg bites are a hit! These are fantastic molds, and the first time I used them, they worked perfectly
5/5

I didn't grease them ahead of time and used my electric pressure cooker's steam setting to make the egg bites. They came out perfectly, with no unpleasant flavors or odors. Despite the fact that I had previously sterilized and prepared them for use using the pressure cooker steam setting (as suggested). Aside from that, the silicone trivet with handles was a huge plus. I have a few stainless steel trivets, but the one that came with this set worked perfectly and I was able to put it right on the counter. I would strongly suggest it.

Outstanding craftsmanship! I can't wait to put them to use! Unlike other products with a plastic lid, they have a silicone lid that allows you to cook with it on while stacking to cook two at once
5/5

I'm going to make baby food in the instant pot soon, and it'll be so much easier now that I can cook it in portions, mash it with a fork, and put it straight into the freezer/fridge without having to dirty a bunch of dishes. The long handle that secures the molds on the trivet is what I'm most looking forward to. What a clever concept!.
