As a result of cooking sprays like Pam leaving a residue and our detergents not cleaning as well as they used to, minerals can build up on cookware and dull the shine, causing pans to Scrub along the inside of your pot with a damp washcloth dipped in this cleaner after you've made a paste with scouring powder like Bar Keepers Friend or Comet. You should then rinse the skillet again and then wash it as you normally would to make sure all the scouring powder is gone before you cook with it. You can use Bar Keepers Friend to remove mineral buildup from your water, but do not let it sit on the pot since it's
These are made in other countries, not in the U.S. Having owned my pan now for 7 years makes it almost 10 years old. I use it every week, and more frequently in the winter. When it came, I was somewhat disappointed to see it wasn't made in the USA, but I decided to give it a shot. I have owned this pot for quite a while now, and it remains one of the best I have Despite its neglect, my pot is discolored a bit, which is not surprising when I consider all the soups, stews, and roasts I cook in it throughout the The pot has not been affected in any way by this. Everything is just as good as when I bought it years ago.
In fact, yes. With no problems, I use mine all the time on my flat top electric range. On low heat, I allow it to heat and it is ready!
It came with chili, and I didn't waste any time in browning 2 lbs of meat as soon as I got it. Approximately 1 lb. A pound of ground chuck (85% fat/ 15% lean), plus 1/2 a pound of ground beef. Pork ground into a thick paste. There were many other ingredients in it as well, but it turned out fine. I would guess you could brown just about anything Could you please explain why you were unable?

A false representation has been made! The lodge says that the product is made in America, but when you read the fine print, it says made in China. Everything they make out of enamel is crap that's made in China. As long as I wanted trash made in China, I would not have paid more for it to be labeled as made in America. Before the return window expired, I would have returned this to Amazon if I realized it was a piece of china made rubbish. Following 3 or 4 uses, the black coating on the inside has cracked along all of the sides of A further example of the poor quality of Chinese trash!.
Because I was curious to know if Lodge Dutch ovens were made in the USA, I selected the one manufactured by Lodge for my wife. My disappointment was deep when I discovered that it has been made in China when I opened it last night. Despite the fact that it claims all cast iron cookware made by Lodge is sourced from Tennessee, I am even more disappointed that reading the product description and the part about the company Lodge, it implies all of their cast iron cookware is made I think that this is either fake advertising by lodge or false advertising My original intent was to receive a Made in USA product, but I received one that was made in China. However, we just opened the Dutch oven last night, so it might not work as well as we expected. My major disappointment is with the false advertising. I feel frustrated and upset by it.
When it comes to chili, FLAMES are a must have If you're looking for a pot, this is it. We received this as a wedding gift and have used it around five times to make different things. My husband and I took it through a couple stages before the paint melted on top of my stovetop and caused a fire. It caught fire while I was making chili today and it was on the stove at medium heat with oil in it when suddenly it burst I am extremely upset at this, as it has damaged my stovetop and not to mention completely destroyed my pan. If something is wrong with all of these products, or if this pan just malfunctioned, I do not know.
I would like to keep it since it looks great. I am concerned about the fact that the product is I am concerned about the possibility of enamel being toxic. It will have to be returned and hopefully I won't have to pay hefty shipping charges.
Lodge products are one of our favorites. Due to their American-made nature, we own three pieces of Lodge cast iron pans instead of those made by other brands. For the first time we have ever bought a Lodge piece online, and we are deeply The following is taken from the listing description "Lodge Cast Iron runs two foundries in the small Tennessee town of South Pittsburg on the banks of the Tennessee River Lodge resides in a community that is proud of its rich history. A company based on values and history as well as high-quality cookware stands at the core of the company. We proudly manufacture our seasoned cast iron and carbon steel cookware in the USA, which translates into quality craftsmanship that has been passed down through the When you read through the listing, you are led to believe that the cast iron Dutch oven is "proudly made in the USA. ". This is so misleading. But right on the box from which the pot is shipped are the following words The label of this product reads "MADE IN CHINA. ". Lodge's advertising for their American heritage directly beneath an item they've decided to make in China is quite misleading. There's a deal to be made here We consider it to be a deal breaker. In addition, as other reviewers have noticed, the color of the lagoon is not even close to the color portrayed on I had been looking at the listing and I thought it looked beautiful, rich, and green online, but when I bought it it was a grayish color- The blue color of the item in the listing is completely different from the blue used here. The money that we were supposed to spend on an American firm that sold out for their enameled products has been a complete waste. Even though I didn't pay much for the product, I would have gladly paid much more for something.
An enameled cast-iron Lodge EC6D43 Dutch Oven, 6-quart, has just arrived in the mail The 31st of January, 2017 was the day for Island Spice Red. I now have a small chip on the inside of the bowl after using it only twice. There are no medals in my house, and I took precautions based on the I see a number of people have the same problem from my reading of amazon feedback. The lodging company has not given me a reply yet, but I probably should have chosen a higher end product.
UPDATE The above issue has already been brought to Lodge's attention. We exchanged a few emails and pictures to clarify, and they shipped me a replacement right away. So far I am very impressed with the way they are protecting their product, so I am changing the rating to a 4 star. The following update is in effect Below is a picture of the new Lodge cookware I received. The first time I unpacked the package, I noticed two small areas that felt rough The top coating fell off when I lightly rubbed one with my finger. Apparently the other area is stable as well. Hence, I now have two pieces with the same kind of defect. I contacted Lodge again, but more communication has not yet been received. As of now, I have given up on the matter. The rating is now 1 star again.
Due to a number of reasons, I gave the Lodge EC7D33 Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven 5 stars. As for the durability under regular use, it has proven to be excellent. As for why I waited 15 months to do this review, it was just too fast, but I normally wait six to eight months when I buy cookware and kitchen appliances The next step is to find out if they last for 8 months or not. Cast iron cookware has stood the test of time for me. I have been using it for over 30 years. I treat enamel as if it is glass, since it is very easy to chip. It is very important for me not to use metal utensils in them or let them soak in water for an extended period of time before cleaning. With any cast iron, I heat it up slowly, dry it out as little as possible, and never go straight to high heat, as that also can cause the enamel to In the same way that you need to heat them up before cleaning them, you need to let them cool down first. In order to clean my Enameled Cast Iron only, I use a worn out green Scotch-Brite pad Scrub the area with a brite pad and a bit of dish soap Many years after I purchased them, they are still nice and white inside and unchipped. As far as I'm concerned, the Lodge EC7D33 is the newest. I use it weekly and I am satisfied When this old Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Cookware holds up as well as my other old Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Cookware does, it will be around for many years to come.
