The cast iron is of excellent quality. The meat comes preseasoned, but I'll rub at least two more layers into the skin. The quality is great, on par with a lodge, but at a lower rate. The weight of my old lodge is similar to this one. There are no gaps in the material. I'm giving it to my boyfriend as a housewarming gift. Mine has been on his wish list for a while. A perfect.
