I'm not the manufacturer, but I've been using this pan for everything, and it does state that it's in the instructions. Butter and a high-temperature-tolerant oil are the best options. It's a rare review from me, but there's a reason for that. I've been using OXO for years, and it's a great brand for kitchen gadgets, so I decided to give it a shot - pan (frying) After three weeks of use, I believe the pictures tell the whole story. Even if it says "scratch resistant," I am a pedant home cook who uses only wooden spoons and utensils. So - to condense a lengthy narrative - Keep a safe distance from this scumbag! Even with the cheapest Teflon pans from the supermarket, I never had peeling after three weeks. Cuisinart is my brand of choice, and it has served me well for many years. That was a huge blunder! br>br>Further Information - April 25: See the updated photos, which were taken after one more final use (and before my new Cuisinart pan arrived). The non-destructive testing (NDT) that was "engineered by Germans" The stick coating peeled off in a way I'd never seen before, according to Amazon. It's not German-engineered, and it's a piece of garbage. So, if you choose to adhere to all of the 5-point guidelines, Buy this frying pan based on the five-star reviews - Go ahead, but keep in mind that your next omelette will include a new spice - Non-destructive testing equipment developed in Germany a coating that sticks Good luck with your meal!.
This 8" skillet has been in my possession for a little more than three months. the non- The coating on the stick coating was peeling off in two small areas. Cooking isn't one of my favorite things to do. On average, I use it 2 - 3 times per day. Once a week, twice a week, and once a month, respectively. Also, I wash it by hand. I intend to file a refund request with OXO. Next steps: My first email was promptly responded to by customer service. Then things started to go downhill. It took 26 days and two more emails, as well as proof of shipping, for me to receive my package. To get a refund posted to my account, I needed to use my tracking number. Of course, the warranty was only for the cost of the skillet, as stated in the warranty. It cost $1 to receive it as a Prime member, but there was no outright shipping cost. The sales tax is $22. In addition, $11 was spent on shipping. It will cost you $75 to return it. I paid $12 for it. For the next three months, you'll pay $97 to have this defective skillet. This warranty, like many others, appears to be a good deal, but a poor-quality product can be expensive.
Based on America's Test Kitchen's recommendation and the fact that I've had the 10" version of this pan for a few years, I chose this nonstick skillet. While the 10" version remains flawless in all relevant performance characteristics, the brand new 8" version's bottom is not flat after only four light duty uses (frying eggs) - preventing full contact between the bottom and the glass- Our GE range's top surface. I was planning on getting the 12" version of the pan as well, but I think I'll go with the T-style instead. Fal pan, which ATK did not recommend as highly.
This is without a doubt the best nonstick pan I've ever used. I love T- Fal is known for their long-lasting non-toxic properties. The pans have always had a light and flimsy feel to them, despite the non-stick coating. This skillet is well-made and has a comfortable handle. The pan distributes heat much more evenly than a T-fal pan. When heated, it does not warp or bulge in the center of the pan. br>br>Right now, my biggest worry is that these pans are no longer available on Oxo's website, and I'm afraid they'll be discontinued. Take advantage of the opportunity while it lasts!.
I trust the stick pan test because it is thorough and simulates real-world situations. They actually cooked an egg 50 times without using any oil and without it sticking to the pan. br>br>I performed my own egg test, and the egg did not stick without any oil. I did get some egg bits on the bottom of the pan, but they were easily removed with a soft spatula or a quick wipe with a dry paper towel. br>br>This pan appears to be large enough to cook an omelet of reasonable size and to comfortably hold three fried eggs. Although it is not ceramic, the chemical coating becomes unstable only at temperatures above 600 degrees, which will not occur on your stovetop. The handle is comfortable to hold and keeps you cool (as you'd expect from OXO). The anodized aluminum of the pan distributes heat evenly. Induction, on the other hand, will not work. However, at less than $20, this is an ideal price for a non-alcoholic beverage. I've yet to come across a non-stick pan, so This property lasts for more than two years in a nonstick pan.
End-of-the-line kitchenware and vendors are well aware of the fact that non- A medium-sized stick pan has a medium-sized surface area. Life expectancy is limited. The finish is a high-performance coating. That coating will degrade in the presence of heat and friction (yes, even wood and plastic cause friction). It's crucial to be aware of this and to expect to be able to replace non-replaceable items. cookware with a nonstick coating Some are superior to others in terms of quality of service. Even though I adore Anolon and OXO, as well as the old Farberware Millennium, they all wear out over time.
This pan comes in an 8-inch version, which I love. The problem with the 12" version is the manufacturer's packaging of the lid. It's packaged in such a way that the handle won't scratch the pan, which is ironic. On the pan, the lid is suspended upside down on a cardboard cylinder resting on a small circular foam pad. br>br>Problem: br>br> The size of the foam pad is insufficient. Because the cardboard cylinder's edges are stiff and abrasive, they slip away from the foam circle and etch a distinct circle on the pan's surface. The packaging is a joke. For a $50 pan, this is unacceptably poor.
Until the coating begins to wear off, the bottom stays flat and functions well. I bought this small skillet to cook one or two eggs at a time because the bottom was nice and flat and didn't dome up like other pans do when cooking on a glasstop stove, which is important when cooking on a glasstop stove. It worked well for eggs until the nonstick coating began to flake away. The only utensils we used were plastic ones. I purchased it in September 2017, and the nonstick coating is peeling off badly in the middle ten months later. Food doesn't stick anymore, but I'm not keen on eating nonstick flakes with my eggs. "Is that really pepper?" I always wonder. According to what I've read, nonstick skillets don't last very long, so for the price I paid, this is a good buy. My glass top stove limits the types of pans I can use, so this wasn't the best option in the first place.
