The product cannot be used near an open flame. Handles will burn in 6 seconds when placed near a flame. It has a long handle but just be reminded it is hardwood. Flames won't touch the handle but accidents do happen so I would be careful and not leave it near a flame if it does get burned. The more likely option would be to get a frying pan that is made of carbon steel or iron with a heat resistant handle, or a pan without any handle at all. This product would be capable of handling it in terms of handling open flames, but use of the pan multiple times and time would eventually damage the bottom.

A thrift store was all I needed, so I picked up a nice glass cover for $1. I am now ready to go.
Since it was so cheap, I thought it would be a gamble and, if something were to go wrong, it wouldn't be that much of a loss. I must call this the best purchase I have ever made! It has never been necessary for me to use oil. Eggs slide right off of it when done cooking because it is so nonstick. Additionally, there is no need to scrub it for 10 minutes afterwards. I am in absolute awe of this.
A portion of it had a bent edge. My initial thought was that I would have to simply return it and they would replace it, which they promptly did, and guess what happened? I also find the replacement to be strangely shaped! There is a very strong chance I would enjoy this pan, but you are out after two strikes! In the future, I plan to try something else with the 2nd pan. There are two strange ones here! The second one is better than the first, but I am used to perfectly shaped frying pans. I couldn't close it properly if I wanted to put a cover on it! It looks like there have been other reviews with the same issue that I wish I saw earlier!.
You are getting a great value with this frying pan. The bacon cooker is well made and passed its first test on the first try (frying bacon).
The problem is that it leaves uneven distribution marks on the bottom of the pot. I use a glass top stove set at 75 percent. Sadly, since it is brand new, it will have to wait to see how it will work in the long run. Metal utensils are not advised since it says on the label, but it's advertised as safe for use with metal items. It gets good merits for being an affordable, functional pan if you don't leave it in water. The wood handle gets weird when left in water.
I have purchased this product twice through Amazon, my second favorite being the book on Amazon. There have been hundreds of purchases and this is the second best. *10 That's a lot of weight. There's a bakelite handle on it. The finish is speckled! The product works well and it's easy to clean. It's a dude!.
This is an excellent product. It is inexpensive but still of good It is one of the things I use.
