Initially, I used the silicone rings that came with them. However, one time I accidentally removed the silicone ring from the lid and discarded it. In order to get the cream to mix back in to the milk after being sitting for over 24 hours, you need to shake the milk vigorously. Without the silicone ring, there was no leakage! Thank you for finding that out. I'll have to clean one less thing. So far we haven't needed the silicone rings since then and have not had problems with milk leaking when the bottles are shaken. The lids are great. As we have a lot of milk and another cow that is pregnant, we will be ordering some more soon.
