It worked perfectly with the lids that were 'regular' size. Lids from the Ball and Kerr brands did not work with the wide mouth lids. The fact that this is a common problem was not apparent to me until now, as I see it mentioned in several A product that works half the time is not a good value for the money. The cost of the item was wasted half of the time.

In theory, this would be great however, these mounts are not rigid enough to easily attach or remove from In particular, if the jar contains any sugar, this will often be the case. It was difficult to get a lid on the jar with maple syrup and even more difficult to remove it once I had it on. There was no issue with it getting stuck Due to the nature of these threads, they are difficult to thread in and out. No matter how clean and new the lid is, it does not work. Unfortunately, I am disappointed in this product. I would recommend buying the conventional metal lids and using those instead.

I do not understand why others dislike theirs. Once the lid has been opened, I think the two piece metal lids are inconvenient to use after the jar has been opened, unless you are preserving food. This is a great product that I ordered. It has not been difficult or challenging for me to screw any of them My use of these "ball and Atlas" jars prompted me to buy several more boxes of them to give as hostess gifts, Yankee swap gifts, etc. I've put all my Ball and Atlas jars to good use. It is orange on the jar of homemade mayo that I have. It is red on the lid of the jam I make. I have a green lid on my homemade pesto. I love them. have no idea what these dissatisfied people are referring to unless they bought another brand (there are several similarly designed products on the market) or unless the company has resolved any problems it may have had in the past.

Since I have better things to do with my time than write a review about plastic jar caps, I'm not going to do it. But sweet baby Jesus, I have had these things for a year now and every time I try and use them I get pissed off. I don't know why but they just don't work. Can you explain this to me?
