Selected User Reviews For Victoria Manual High Hopper Grain Grinder, Black

The design is potentially flawed, creating a hazardous disappointment for users
3/5

The first two or three times I used the product, I was happy with Then I always cleaned and oiled the item by hand after each use. The main difference today is that I used it to grind corn into Mexican masa again, and I noticed a change in the color after about a third of the way through. It's the mass from the inside that had rubbed metal into it in the first picture. According to the third picture, the piece shown in this second picture is the source of the problem, the metal piece that has been damaged by the design of the piece shown in the second A large amount of iron waste had been spread throughout the The product and my mill would both be ruined if it weren't for this issue. It would have been a good product at a reasonable price if it weren't for this problem. In my use, I used the program only as advertised on the box and took great care to put it together. The rust problem appears to be affecting other customers. It can be avoided by thoroughly drying the surface and applying a thin layer of oil at each There is a different problem I am having, and hopefully it is an incidental As soon as I speak to customer service, I'm going to see if they can refund me or find a return or refund solution I may order another one in hopes it doesn't have the same problem as the first one.

A grind that won't produce the right fineness for What it's supposed to do, and what it's supposed to do The flour cannot be ground fine enough to be used to make pastry flour, but is good for tortillas and other things
5/5

Just grind a cup of dried pinto beans into the unit and you won't get bits of metal when you first get it and you'll stop that problem. All of the parts will be cleaned out and will work perfectly afterwards.

There is no better corn grinder than this one
5/5

Great corn meal or corn masa grinder that you can make at home. We have a grain mill attachment for the Kitchen Aid mixer, but this Victoria Manual grinder can outperform it by a wide margin. When you use this machine to grind the same volume of meal, it takes only a tenth of the time. I like that it is well made and that it is easy to adjust. Compared with other options, this is an inexpensive option. The product is great in general.

It is impossible to mount onto a surface and still grind into it
3/5

I don't see how you can mount it to a surface and grind into a 5 gallon bucket at the same time. There is no return policy for this item, which is wrong****update*** Amazon fixed it for me, and I got a refund for In order to make it right, they did more than they could have possibly expected. The product is still not worth the price.

Granularity of milling is questionable (at best
3/5

The purpose of this is to mill grains for brewing beer. The item has just been returned. Granularity of milling is questionable (at best. Moreover, the grinding disks seem to be made of the same metal (coated The body is made up of). In view of the fact that the plates are against one another, I wonder how much metal is ground I also got a nasty surprise when I was trying to return the product there was no return label I know this when I bought the mill, because the refundable item notice was clearly stated. I'd like to commend Amazon for giving me.

In ground food, there is metal shavings
3/5

The first thing I noticed was that after scrubbing it with hot water and soap three times, it still had a sticky film on There were metal flakes in the horseradish I was grinding when I was grinding it. My horseradish continued to get metal in it before and after I adjusted the grinding wheels. Although I was very disappointed, it would have been easy to return it since I did not get to use it for 3 days after the "return by this date. " deadline.

I'm OK with it
3/5

My grinder is sturdy and heavy-duty, and I expect it to last for a very long time. It is easy to clean and take apart. In terms of placing it, it is hard to find a good spot for it and it tends to shimmy around, so it is best to mount it permanently somewhere and use some bolts to keep it from moving. It has a lot of potential, but I haven't been able to make it to a fine grinding. So far. In the food processor, I grind it up finer by throwing it in there after I grind it in this grinder. A stone mill type electric electric device is the best option for anyone who has a real desire to grind their own flour. For times when an extra coarse grind will do fine, or when there is no power and one needs bread in a hurry.

I found this to be a reliable and great There are so many negative reviews about this grinder that I am confused
5/5

Since I had to take my time setting this up, I took my time. It takes a little time and effort to set up the grind to the perfect level. The settings are great once they are set up, however! This has been a wonderful experience for me. Unlike a blender that you can just plug in and use, this requires a little bit of setup. As with anything new, it takes a bit of getting used The tool itself is great and fully trustworthy, but you need to prepare for that and give it some time to work! Construction of the cast-iron is solid, so it should last for many Grinding should be done with caution so that the plates are not too close to each other. Some people have mentioned getting metal in their flour, so I guess that's why. The sound of metal on metal grumbling is what I hear. In order to avoid it, I adjust the grinding plates even further apart if I hear it. This hasn't caused me any trouble. There is no fine grinding produced by this machine. A coarse grind (cornmeal type grind) is produced well with this machine. The product works perfectly for grinding acorns, I purchased it for that purpose! Perhaps it takes a little time to figure out how to set things up properly. Although, the system works well and is of good build quality. I am quite pleased with my.
