The following information was updated on It was only the lack of replacement receptacles that prevented me from giving this grinder a higher rating than it otherwise would have. I found that the supplier was able to provide replacement receptacles at a very good price. A highly value grinder with top-notch customer service backed by a very responsive manufacturer. Customer who is happy with the service. The original review is as follows When I disassembled it to take a look, I am happy to report that I am There is a sharp burr on the steel and the tolerances of the assembly are encouraging. In the beginning, the adjustment ring didn't seem to have a particularly smooth action, but by gently and firmly cycling it back and forth it gradually became smoother. In an effort to thoroughly clean it while it was disassembled, I put it back together and tested it. As I increased the setting up the range, I got a more consistent and coarser grind. At its finest setting, which is 1, I got a very finely ground result. This grinder is very good. It has a smooth crank mechanism, doesn't "wiggle", and has lots of leverage so it's very easy to grind. There was only one occasion when the beans stopped feeding, but a simple shake rectified the situation. There are a few things to expect
The crank is not The design was done by the designer. When you lift off the crank, the coffee beans will fill the chamber. Take care to pick it up by the body when you reach for it, not the crank, whenever you pick this up from a counter top. It makes handling especially important for this particular item since it is made of glass. The supplier does not yet sell replacement jars/receptacles as far as I can tell. In spite of the potentially fragile glass receptacle, I like it. If they do introduce a larger size, I hope they offer an option other than the original size. The grinder's receptacle was designed to be dishwasher safe and it's easy to see when to stop grinding. In the case of fine grinds, more grinding will be required. When grinding on setting 1, you'll need to spend much more time than when grinding on setting Setting 1 may seem as if your beans are not growing, but they actually do. In this setting, you'll wind up with a powdery grinding result. Higher settings will result in a faster grinding process. It seems as if 3 is the sweet spot for pour overs, however this is a matter of We offer 6 different grind types, so everyone can find the perfect grind. The pros are High quality grinder with good steel burrs at a very high price. Grinder models with steel burrs cost at least 30 times more than those with plastic burrs This is 40% more than what you usually earn. It is far more in some cases. Ceramic burrs are typically found in burr grinders at this price point and below. The only way to make it even more perfect would be by using a burr grinder powered by electricity. Another drawback of a motorized burr grinder is that it will remove you from exactly what it was like to grind prefer grinding my own coffee because I find it enhances the taste of the drink. The cons are I don't see anything noteworthy. I would point out the lack of replacement receptacles as one thing I did not like. This is a good and affordable product that will serve your needs if the one that ships with it breaks. I highly recommend it.
Invested a lot of time and effort in low-income research I am at the end of the highs, I am at the end of the highs The one I love from VKchef was the last I found before I ended. It has a good size balance that makes it easy to use and store. When grinding, it feels good to hold and has a nice heft to it. There is only one thing I would caution, which many other reviewers have noted too the glass bottom. My blender broke and I was forced to grind directly into my French press after dropping mine. A letter of appreciation and two vouchers were sent to me by vkchef, who were very supportive of my request. Companies are judged not just on how well they make products, but also on how well they respond to customer problems. I give VKCHEF 5 out of 5 for their response to customer problems. I love it! Thanks for making it!.
My electrical burr coffee grinders that I'd been using for a few years were noisy and power hungry, so I switched over to a hand grinder with a ceramic/plastic blade. About a year later, the plastic began to crack. Hence, I sought out something that would last. I hate disposable appliances, I think they are so wasteful and unnecessary. If I were buying something, I would rather invest in something that will last me a lifetime. I feel that way about this grinder, at least until I use it more. Among the only minor drawbacks are (1) the grinder setting is extremely easy to move while grinding. Luckily once you realize what's going on - it's easy to follow. (2) the glass jar is fragile and vulnerable to breaking, but it should be ok if you are careful when grinding. I would suggest holding the glass as you grind in order to minimize the risk of the glass falling and of smashing it against the counter when it is In addition to all of that, I am amazed by how much faster it grinds compared to my old ceramic burr grinder. Despite the smaller capacity, the top is just as fast as my old ceramic, but because it's so blazing fast I just refilled it Once again, load the jar and run it twice. The glass jar can hold two grinds, which is just enough for me to fit it in my aeropress and in my Yeti cup. I'm highly satisfied with this grinder and I love that it does not require electricity and that it does not cause a lot of noise to disrupt our house sleep.
While the grind adjustment band seems to be a little looser than expected, it looks nice and feels sturdy. There is a lot of switching between grind sizes when grinding, which can be very It is necessary for you to keep the band in place to prevent it from shifting on its Apart from that flaw, the build quality is very good, so if you can manage to get over it, you'll really like When ground at the same time each week, grinds will be consistent, and the bottom glass chamber can be easily removed for pouring or cleaning fresh grinds.
Your money is worth saving! The purpose of this purchase was to obtain a durable, quality grinder. I guess I should have expected that for a manual grinder at this price. The product was nothing like what I expected and I spent a lot of money for nothing. During the past two weeks, I have used it quite a bit. A fall from a few feet caused the piece that holds the burrs in place and controls the ground size to snap when I dropped my grinder while grinding. This sheared off in a matter of seconds. This should come as no surprise. In the inside, I was able to see three thin plastic spindles were the basis for the whole mechanism. Rather than make vital interior components out of solid plastic, why would you construct the burrs out of metal? It is a handheld device that should be able to survive a jump of a few feet. Glass grounds container didn't even break, but the whole thing is useless without this piece of plastic.
On the day I received it, it broke. As soon as I received this grinder, I tried it out by grinding some beans. Due to the grinding not going smoothly, I lost control of the grinder. The mill fell apart when I dropped it under the table, and it could not be fixed.
