Questions & Answers

What is the maximum amount of coffee beans that can be ground simultaneously? add (cups or ounces of coffee beans, not how much coffee will be made)?

Kevin Thanks for reaching out to me Greetings, and thanks for your inquiry! I think it holds just under 1 cup of beans, maybe a tablespoon or two

Where can I buy a grinder that is easy to keep clean? Is it necessary to clean it every now and then?

Vielen Dank für Ihre Frage! You can disassemble it easily. When you're done, we recommend that you wash it by hand with warm soapy water, and then thoroughly dry it by hand. It is totally fine to put the glass portion of the dish in the dishwasher if you like. As far as frequency goes, it is a personal choice. When grinding dark, oily beans, you'll probably want to clean more frequently if you leave a lot of residue behind. We have been using ours constantly for the past month and have not cleaned it. As a result of our medium roasts, our beans tend not to be It's a good idea to clean yours monthly and you'll be Please accept my sincere thanks for your interest.

Is there any other part of the grinder that is plastic that could break and render it useless besides the silicone?

This grinder has a plastic body and a glass bottom jar that is connected to a crank that is made out of glass. I can imagine that any of that would not wear out and break under normal usage. It's possible that they could break if dropped or mistreated, but the ceramic burr and stainless steel crank and shaft are very, Honestly, I can't get enough of it. I usually have to crank about 230 to 250 times to get a fine espresso grind for a double espresso, but it's fun to do and I look forward to it every time.

Could you tell me if this grinder produces a good french press grind?

There is a lot of adjustment available with the grinder burr. For percolated coffee, it can grind from very fine (to grind spices, for example) to coarse. There is no problem with it being adjusted, and it could be easily used for French press coffee as well.

In general, this is a lateral move from electric power, but it's much more appropriate for my usage
5/5

I had two electronic grinders that quit despite being well taken care of In order to keep my business more mechanically reliable, I chose something more *** Let's get this out of the way right now This grinder has a lifetime of about five minutes of continuous cranking. Incidentally, a power grinder, even a cheap one, does the work in just 45 seconds. factor alone is the reason I consider this grinder to be a lateral move and not an objective improvement, as it is much less effective. In case you're the kind of person who wakes up in a hurry and demands their coffee made just seconds before they have to leave, or simply do not like the sound of a grinder taking a long time to grind, this might not be Is its performance adequate to outweigh its outwardly archaic design, and if so, would one recommend this grinder? That's a definite yes for me. One of the benefits of this method is that there is no static charge making everything adhere to the ground. Several of my old electric grinders had an incredibly annoying habit of sucking half the grounds up under the lid when you opened the receptacle, and the clinging grounds would fall in chunks, as if they were getting ready In contrast to this, the grinds flow into the receptacle and pour out as you would a brand new bag of playground sand.

Another huge plus is that it is relatively quiet in comparison We screamed and wailed and the cats moved to the other side of the house, and since I prefer to work at night, I woke up my dearest more than a few times in the quest for 2am coffee. A soothing white noise-like sound is produced when operated by this hand grinder. A lot of thought was put into the design of the grinder so that it is both elegant and mess-free. No charge. An easy-to-use screwdriver makes securing the hopper to the glass base easy. I love throwing tiny amounts of beans in and watching them get crushed. The ceramic components on the inside are thoughtfully made mechanically and are very fun to watch For those of you who fall into my weird category. It happens every now and then that the beans don't feed as well as they could on their own, but they recover after a gentle shake, so it's no big deal. In conclusion, I have no doubt that this thing will last. Putting it to the test, I can't find a single likely point of failure (other than dropping the glass part), and I think it would withstand some pretty horrific While it may take a few minutes (again, consistent cranking for about five minutes) the wait isn't really an issue once you accept the fact that nothing is rushed You can get it at a low price As long as you're patient, you'll find it pretty straightforward to grind, and I've come to enjoy watching Netflix or watching youtube videos while I do it. I find it to be strangely satisfying.
Overall, I must reiterate that this grinder is not for people who are impatient or overly busy. However, if you're tired of noisy, messy electronic grinders that find new and exciting ways to fail, or you wish to make coffee in a more involved and ritualistic manner, then this grinder would be an excellent choice.

You can find this manual burr grinder here if you are looking for You may enjoy a great cup of coffee if you - If you're a Joe, then you know it all begins with hard work
5/5

The texture of the ground coffee is inconsistent and inadequate when using blade grinders. This will be reflected in the taste of the coffee. The best method to grind coffee is obviously a burr grinder. A powered grinder is not for everyone. If you don't want to spend a grand on a grinder, you'll have to do some hand cranking to earn your coffee. As that is established, you have quite a few options in the manual burr grinder department as well. As for the first couple grinders I purchased, they were a standard stainless steel two part cylinder with a As a result of a horrible design flaw, the drive assembly sheared after about a week of use. A shaft attached to metal wings is spun with all the power you supply. The metal wings engage with a piece of plastic molded into a shape. Yes, that is correct. A metal on a Stay away from those styles. It doesn't matter what they call them, what manufacturers they belong to, and even what colors they come in, stainless metal cylinder burr grinders will break. There will be a bad coffee taste as a result of this I slept less in the As a result, there are very few options in the manual burr grinder field. It is pointless to use flowers in an antique design. An old design should look neat, not flowery. The price of a grinder such as this is ALWAYS far too high for such a simple device.

For the pragmatist, this is the best option by far. The grinder has been a part of my morning routine for five months now. We've been able to count on it being There is no metal in the drive assembly, the burr is tough, and the resultant grind stays the same size no matter how you adjust it. Even the glass jar that catches the ground coffee has a lid that seals in the freshness. I am writing to answer a question you might have 'Why am I doing this?'. My daughter is about to receive another one as a present, so I feel it would be wrong not to acknowledge this quality product. A cup of coffee with a manual burr grinder is a great start to the.

Excellent grinder, the only downside is that I have gotten annoyed with some of the features sooner rather than later
3/5

Conical burr grinders don't come much cheaper than this. It has been a little over a year since I bought mine, and I use it mostly at If you are just one person, this would probably be ideal for you. Due to my girlfriend's love of coffee, I have to manually grind twice as much, and that is a lot of work when you just want to roll out of bed and have a nice cup of coffee in a few minutes. There are some cons listed below, things I've been annoyed by over the years. I think I'll eventually settle on an electric one, so I can save time. Observations 1. At the top of the shaft, there is a loose 'bolt' (keeping everything together). This part was replaced with a nut and a 1. . 2. Because the shaft is the only part of the tool which is secured, the burr is prone to wobbling during grinding. My grind doesn't have to be too consistent - I'm not picky about it The cup is fine, but if you are a coffee snob you might not like the 'wobble'. Sleeves made of 3D printed plastic are used to secure the shaft at both the top and Lastly, 3. It is annoying to rotate the grinder horizontally. Isn't it a shame that more of these are There are far fewer errors and movement is more naturally controlled.

And as everyone notes, grinding 50g of coffee beans finely (for pour over) takes about 5 minutes if you grind them consistently. It takes about two days for French presses to work I have 3 minutes with you. It looks like there are other grinders that you can switch between grind settings easily. There should be a feature like that in this app. You can change your settings quite easily, but it isn't as simple as leading your mouse left or right a few notches.
