Questions & Answers

What does this mean in comparison to the second quarter?

A travel-sized Q2 features the lightest, smallest burr set and is the best for filter coffee a JX has a different burr set but both are excellent for filter coffee It is larger than Q2 (15 to 35g) ), but the weight is

What is the number of cups of coffee this grinder can make with medium-ground coffee?

A cup of coffee can be as much as 20 grams depending on how much you use. The grinding hopper can hold only about 28 grams, or one ounce, at a time, which is enough for about 12 tablets or capsules Depending on how strong you like your coffee, you will need 16 ounces. While I think the grinder was designed more for espresso drinkers than pour over drinkers, I appreciate the speed at which it grinds and the uniformity of the grounds that it produces. As it grinds the beans, it is very quiet because it is a heavy piece and very solid. In order to grind more beans, I grind more bean for more grounds. I have been using the Hario Slim for years, but this is a substantial improvement.

When grinding for pour overs, does this produce a lot of fines?

My opinion is that it isn't true. My grinder is very even, and I use it to grind pour overs. This burr grinder is far superior to my electric Capresso The majority of the time, however, it is just used for travel. I'm not too picky, but it is very pleasing to me

The adjustment size varies with each click, so how much do you adjust? As I understand it, the JX PRO adjusts 12 settings. Clicks take place at a distance of 5 microns. In addition to the jx, how do you feel about it?

I totally agree! In addition, JX grinders are capable of 25 microns per click.

I cannot compare with any other grinder I have owned
5/5

This is without a doubt the best manual grinder I have owned so far. In my capacity as an engineer, I find it very important to appreciate both the look and the function of good design. Compared with other grinders I have used so far, this grinder's bearings are the smoothest I have encountered. With the bearings, stainless burrs, and the handle being a little over 5 inches from the center of the grinder to the center of the wooden grip (leaner handle, better leverage, easier grinding), I can say that grinding is difficult and not very enjoyable. Two, the housing is not very thin gauge like the housing on other grinders, but it has a superior strength. As a result of the smooth operation of the grinding mechanism, it is also the most quiet manual grinder I have ever used. When I make coffee in the morning, I usually wake up first. Silence keeps me calm. Lastly, this is by far the fastest grinder I have ever used, grinding in well under half the amount of time it took my old Handground grinder to do. While I did not have a chance to time it, it would be under 30 seconds with the hopper almost full, and about a minute and a half with For example, setting 3 on the JX is slightly different from setting 2 on the Handground for an aeropress, which is also nearly the same. As a final note, I would like to add that the grind itself is extremely consistent. One constructive criticism I can make on this game is that it generates a little static when grinding, but it is not big enough to do away with a star. When I unscrewed the bottom receiver for the first time, a lot of coffee clung to both sides of the holder and the bottom of the burr, and I was left with a messy mess. Now I hit the grinder a couple of times with the right palm of my right hand on opposite sides once the grind is done, so once the grind is done, I hold the grinder in my left hand for a couple of seconds. The entire volume of coffee is in the bottom of the receiver cup when I open it. In addition to that, I had to wait for the JX to come back into stock, and Anne from 1ZPresso was very helpful answering my questions and keeping me informed of progress, so huge thanks go In my opinion, having a wonderful cup of coffee or three in the morning is part of a simple pleasure of life, and having the right tools is key to doing so. If you are feeling the same way I am, you should definitely try this grinder. Previous crushers, especially those in the $10 to $20 range, will help you make the right choice My guess is that after the first time using it, you will agree that it costs at least $20. Comparing the two is impossible. My bamboo aeropress stand on my countertop looks great with the the mug and it is well worth the investment.

The filter grinder is a great buy at this price! On Amazon, I decided to buy a JX after hearing some good reviews about it
5/5

In contrast to its marketed purpose as a grinder for espresso, I used it for about one month with my Cafelat Robot and a BPlus Apollo grinder I already owned. My love of hand grinders has led me to own a variety of them including the Hario Skerton, Lido 2, Knock Feld 2, Kinu M47, BPlus Apollo, and I am now owning One of the cheap grinders on this list, the 1ZPresso is the cheapest of the bunch, so I did not expect too much from it. This site is geared towards users who are looking to I used the grinder primarily for medium to coarse grinds. It is pretty straightforward to use, and I found it quite simple to operate. We used this grinder with dark beans (such as Red Bird Espresso) and it did not require too much force to operate. I did however have to work for 45 minutes An Apollo machine grinds a dose of 18 grams of espresso in 60 seconds, while the Apollo takes *25-35 seconds The following is the timer. It was a bit disappointing to experience a grind time rather than a polish time considering the size of the A cup of coffee grounds could not fit in the catch cup, despite the fact that I could fit 23g of coffee beans in the top of the grinder. It is easy to hold the wooden ball with the rubber band, while the rubber band provides good grip. At first the ball was quite stiff, so I applied some lubricant underneath and now it spins quite well. By holding the handle in place and turning a wing-nut, the grinding size is adjusted just like many other grinders. This grinder is equipped with a nut type of piece on the bottom. A clockwise turn will make the finer and a counterclockwise turn will make the As I noticed several quirks, I want to share them with you. They have a grind size scale with increments as you refine the grind, which is completely opposite of any other grinder I've used before. As an additional note, at espresso fineness, the burrs can take some time to grab the last 5% of beans you are grinding, and this last 5% accounts for 15% of the grind time. The fact that it's marketed as an espresso grinder is surprising to me after using it with the Robot. Although the manual lever is forgiving, I found it difficult to adjust the step size. The transition from an easy to press lever to a grind that required Hulk-like strength seemed completely unexpected to me. The strength of a person can be gained with just a few In terms of visual appearance, it seemed to offer some boulders (relative to espresso grounds), and its taste was often murky compared to it. The coffee grinder I use for my main espresso machine is not this one. However, I decided to try it with the Bonavita Immersion Dripper (as well as Clever Dripper) and I have been ecstatic with the results! It looks like the grind consistency is similar to the Baratza Virtuoso if you grind it coarser. The filter generally doesn't clog up with a ton of fines when I get very consistent draw down times. While I usually bring either a Clever Dripper or an Aeropress with me when I travel, I am now planning to use a Despite its small size, it is capable of doing an excellent grind for filter coffee. The following is a guide for evaluating build quality There is a slight improvement in the build quality over what I anticipated. It has a nice weight to it and it didn't play when I moved the shaft around. The knurling is a little rough, and the threads are not as precise as the Apollo, but it has a nice weight to it and has no play. A further advantage of this system is that it can be disassembled quite quickly, something that is not possible with Lido 2 and Feld 2. There's nothing to complain about with this thing, and I thought at first it was plastic - in fact, I thought it was plastic at first. The catch cup has a nice pitch to the threads, so it just takes a couple turns to get it on or If I have to toss it in a suitcase, I feel pretty confident. The value is It really shines here, and this is where it excels. One of the few options available to a person with a budget of $130 is this one, and it is quite good. A Lidos, Kinus, or BPlus would probably be a good fit if you need something for espresso 100% of the time.

For espresso, the grain is too coarse
3/5

This product was bought so I can make espresso. According to the manufacturer, the burrs are made specifically for espresso machines. According to the grinders, 1 is set for espresso coffee and 0 is set for Turkish coffee which requires powder like intensity. It is just too coarse for espresso to be set at 1. The top setting on this grinder is 0 because it can go no finer than that. There is still too much coarseness in the grind. My espresso maker runs through this grind way too fast, and I have no chance of making decent espresso out of it. It is very disappointing and I will have to return this item. Despite being two stars, I'm giving it two because of its impressive build quality. I like the way it looks and feels, and if you just want it for brewing regular coffee, this would be perfect. However, it is just not suitable That means the burrs may not have been properly set, so it might just be a lemon. For a perfect espresso, they would need to be closer together so they could grind at the right fineness.
