I don't know what you mean when you say My reasoning for purchasing this pan was because I prefer a metal pan WITHOUT a nonstick surface Surfaces that stick to each other. A metal pan, without a coating, is made of metal (aluminum). Using butter, parchment paper, or similar methods to facilitate food release will depend on the person using it. My past spring form pans were coated by a shiny metal. With use, the polished metal has scratched through to the steel underneath, resulting in patches of rust. This pan looks stronger and should last longer.

Despite it not being Teflon-coated, I appreciate the fact that it is not high quality

With an adhesive that wasn't removed by dish soap, hot water, or alcohol, the label was stuck onto the inside of the bottom plate. As a result, I wound up with scouring marks on the bottom plate right off the bat. There are two problems with the ring. It's a bit oblong, so it's not entirely leak proof around the round bottom plate.

It makes cheesecakes look so adorable. When I attended a potluck, someone threw away the bottom of a favorite saucepan I had purchased almost 40 years ago. This has always been my favorite of the half dozen or so I've purchased. I'm sending the others to goodwill.
